In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Finding an actress to pair opposite Tom Cruise is no easy task, but director Joseph Kosinski knew he had the perfect pick when he sought out fellow '80s icon Jennifer Connelly for Top Gun: Maverick.
While the Top Gun: Maverick cast didn't actually pilot any F-18s, they still had to make it look as believable as possible, so Tom Cruise designed a rigorous training program to get them into TOPGUN shape.
While chatting with us at the press junket, Top Gun: Maverick director Joe Kosinski revealed what he said in their initial pitch meeting that finally convinced Tom Cruise to say yes to a Top Gun sequel.
