THE MANDALORIAN Season 2 May Also Feature The Live-Action Debut Of Hera Syndulla

Following the news that Season 2 of The Mandalorian will see the live-action debuts of Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze, we're now hearing that Star Wars Rebels' Hera Syndulla may also make an appearance...

It looks like Disney+'s The Mandalorian could wind up introducing live-action versions of quite a few fan-favorite characters from the animated side of the galaxy far, far away.

Following the news that the second season of the Disney+ series will feature Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), a new report indicates that they'll be joined by fellow Star Wars Rebels alum Hera Syndulla. The source isn't as reliable as the ones that broke those earlier stories, however, so we should definitely take this as a rumor until we hear more.

This report also claims to have confirmed that Sabine Wren will appear, and reckons there are plans in place for both a Boba Fett spinoff and an Ahsoka series set after the events of Rebels which would see the surviving members of The Ghost's crew (Hera, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper) continuing their search for Ezra Bridger. If true, that would also open the door for an appearance from Grand Admiral Thrawn!

Again, best not to put too much stock in any of this just yet, but it does make sense given some of things we already know about the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. It seems clear that the success of the first season has resulted in Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and co. being given some major leeway to play in the Star Wars sandbox.

What do you guys think? Be sure to let us know in the comments.

Hmm this one I kinda doubt it think they are just throwing Rebels characters into the rumor mill bc of the slow news. She might have joined Ahsoka and Sabine to look for Ezra but considering she now has her son I feel like it wouldn’t make sense for her to go with them and if Mando just keeps running into Rebels characters sore are of each other that’s pretty mazy to me

@Ha1frican - Agreed. I'd like to see her story continued elsewhere, but since she doesn't have a strong connection to the Mandalorians or the jedi order, it'd likely feel a bit forced here. They resisted the temptation to pack season 1 with existing characters, so I doubt they'll dump a ton into season 2. It would run the risk of overshadowing the main characters.

I really hope this doesn't devolve into the fan service of Star Wars that I don't care about.

@TheJustinHammer - I would argue they are. They may not be well known as a lot of people haven’t watched the show but anyone who does likes the cast a lot from what I’ve seen, I know I do although I still think Zeb looks like he doesn’t fit in Star Wars for some reason even though he’s what Chewbacca initially looked like

I just hope they don't fall into the fan service trap and this serves the story first & foremost.

Well, she is green. Maybe she's on Mando's list of "Green People Who This Baby Could Belong To."

Alright, I'm just gonna go it out there then I guess: I have on high authority that Ezra, Zeb and Thrawn are also gonna appear. I know it sounds unreal, but you heard it here first

If true, that means they'll likely introduce Hera and Kanan's kid:

Loved Rebels. A live action cast would be awesome.
