@MCUKnight11 - well there for right now. Its possible the theaters are planning something similar for when theaters open in other countries too.

That's all well and good but is it safe to do so now?

Well, China had this pandemic first, so it makes sense that they're the first ones to slowly (but hopefully surely) get back to normal.

Other countries will follow suit in time.

Too soon. I get that some people just want to return to a sense of normalcy but this could easily lead to the virus to continue spreading when its finally going down.

Also, if true, Disney should hold some responsibility for this. I can understand a bit more if they were never released over there in the first place but they're seriously just trying to milk this during a pandemic.

@Himura - Well I thought I heard they were gonna screen Harry Potter as well as some other old movies, Disney is definitely no alone in this.

"The Hollywood studios have also been approached to bring catalog films back to the Middle Kingdom as it works to get back on its feet. Last week, Warner Bros said a new 3D 4K version of Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone was due to release, though a date has yet to be set."

@Himura - I'm hoping they all know what they are doing for financial reasons and for the ones you stated. I have a hard time believing they would not have their facts straight and that they knowingly do this when it is too soon.

Even in my state, many of the government people are talking like once you have quarantine yourself for two weeks with no symptoms of the virus, then you must be okay to go out into crowds.

I hope that is true. But I guess we'll find out.

@Himura - Here is what I read regarding this in China:

"The news of China Film Group’s re-opening arrives at time when new Coronavirus cases are nearing zero in the PRC, and hospitals that housed the infected are now closing."

So, the spreading seems to have stopped and the virus has run its course (whatever that means).

Don't know the numbers, and I doubt any of us actually do, but unless the spread of the virus in China has slimmed to nearly vanishing, honestly I feel this isn't the safest move. I'm no doctor either, so what do I know?

With the exception of essential businesses and essential needs, at this point businesses and commuting should probably be locked down for the moment. Just until we can be sure we won't be putting ourselves right back in the same bad state we were previously in by lifting restrictions.

My state is currently set up as described above and yet still people are getting infected during essential commuting or at their essential place of business. People have needs that go beyond this virus so there isn't much to be done about that, but it would be much worse if restrictions were to start getting lifted prematurely.

Again not sure if any of this is premature, I just hope that it isn't. B.O takes a back seat to human safety and I hope the Chinese government knows that

@LSHF - So long as that's the case, everything seems all good then.

Sh*t! If everyone there feels safe getting back out in crowds, those theaters are going to be super packed for a while as they try to catch up on MCU and other films.
