Avengers: Doomsday Leak Reveals New Look At MCU Veteran As "Boris" And The Latverian Witches

Promotional images from Avengers: Doomsday have seemingly leaked online, revealing a new look at Doctor Doom's Latverian Witches and the mysterious Boris, who is thought to be an MCU veteran.

It's been a few weeks since we had an Avengers: Doomsday leak, but a possible first look at "Boris" has been revealed today, along with more promotional shots of Doctor Doom's Latverian Witches.

As always, it's best to take leaks like these with a pinch of salt, especially at a time when AI-generated fakes are so convincing. What will be telling is whether these are hit with copyright strikes and pulled from social media in the coming hours.

They certainly look pretty real, anyway, and the poses we see from each of the Latverian Witches may offer some clues as to who is beneath their respective masks. Current speculation points to Clea (purple), Sylvie (green), and the Scarlet Witch (orange).

Back to Boris, and we're sure you'll recall rumours that Doom's most loyal acolyte is really Doctor Strange. We can only guess what the former Sorcerer Supreme has been through since we last saw him, but Stephen's loyalty to Victor Von Doom would follow the comics, where he helped Doom "save" the Multiverse by creating Battleworld.

The presence of a third eye on his mask may be telling, and the reveal that Strange has gone down such a dark path should deliver a real gut punch in theaters later this year...

In related news, a banner currently on display in Anaheim for D23 reveals a new look at Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. This makes a nice change from the last promo image we saw so much of, and it's been updated to include that mysterious piece of cloth around the villain's arm.

A familiar Avengers: Secret Wars rumour has also surfaced, as @MyTimeToShineH is claiming that Tony Stark/Iron Man will return in the December 2027 release.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

@Gambito - This is one of the cheapest looking movies Marvel's ever put out. Just the facts that they can only manage to give us half the X-Men and that we have to settle for the Thunderbolts instead of the Avengers makes this movie look so cheap. It's also a multiverse of madness again. The end of the whole multiverse and there's three, count 'em three universes! Then there's he AI-level visuals.

So the end of Doctor Strange 2 and him as a character are just patsies, just sacrificial lambs to build up Avengers? You know how what WAS great about Avenger was how all the different franchises combined and culminated like a rich tapestry? Well forget that! Avenger makes more money so it's all just Avengers now. Welcome to Snyderverse 2.0

bkmeijer1 - 8/9/2026, 9:04 AM
@Hobmoblin - maybe Strange and Clea came across Doom and thought he either had a point, or he put them under a spell. I'm hoping for the first honestly

@bkmeijer1 - Better be a spell. I want Strange Vs Doom not as his hired help
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 8/9/2026, 11:06 AM
@Bucky74 - we've seen Doctor Strange do worse. But yeah, Doom having a spell over Strange would establish how powerful Doom is
Bucky74
Bucky74 - 8/9/2026, 11:16 AM
@bkmeijer1 - I know, but I’m kind of sick of the hero acting like a bad guy trope. I’m sure Wanda is one of the witches and I do love her character but after this, she’s either got to be a hero or villain for good. Same with Strange. I wanted a magic Vs Magic battle with Doom and Strange
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 8/9/2026, 11:20 AM
@Bucky74 - or maybe they finally dare kill her off after this. But yeah, she's definitely one of the witches. I'm sure they'll introduce a red (scarlet I suppose) witch too
Bucky74
Bucky74 - 8/9/2026, 11:49 AM

bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 8/9/2026, 4:43 PM
@Bucky74 - I do wonder how they're gonna make Magneto work. Doubt they'll use the holocaust background
Bucky74
Bucky74 - 8/9/2026, 5:24 PM
@bkmeijer1 - They had better use that. It’s his entire character. They can easily either say it’s a secondary mutation that slows his aging or have him frozen like Bucky
Hobmoblin
Hobmoblin - 8/9/2026, 9:20 PM
@bkmeijer1 - yeah or Doctor Strange encountered some serious shit in his trippy otherworldly travels that convinces him he pretty much has to team up with Doom.

They don't have a great track record with that though. Avengers 1 mind control was childish writing and Scarlett Witch in Multiverse of Madness was surprisingly one dimensional despite having 4 movies and an entire TV series of development.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 8/10/2026, 2:11 AM
@Bucky74 - I wouldn't mind it if they change it to second or third generational trauma, but him being first generation is still relevant today
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 8/10/2026, 2:12 AM
@Hobmoblin - he already saw some weird shit in Infinity War and MoM probably, so I wouldn't be too surprised if he chooses to help Doom
Bucky74
Bucky74 - 8/10/2026, 9:25 AM
@bkmeijer1 - To me, it has to be HiS trauma or his extreme motivation is meaningless. And it’s easy to do. Many mutants have secondary mutations or he can be frozen like Bucky which would make it seem very recent to him

Back the classic "hate the MCU" comments here
CanonVsReason
CanonVsReason - 8/9/2026, 9:00 AM
OMG cry about it...at this point I don't know why I read these comments, no matter what ya'll just programmed to hate everything.

If was up to "fans" like you Marvel and DC would go out of business and we wouldn't have a reboot we would have nothing because you would hate on that too.

Stop crying about not getting a 1 to 1 copy of the comics, I definitely DONT want that
TheVisionary25
TheVisionary25 - 8/9/2026, 9:11 AM
@CanonVsReason - plus those same people would then complain about it not being as good as the comics so why even try then?.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 8/9/2026, 9:29 AM
@CanonVsReason - wow you must really hate the comics.

Spider-Man got nothing but praise recently btw. People loved it. It didn't flop. It's on it's way to making 2 maybe even 3 billion.

So maybe the fans don't hate everything. Maybe they're just discerning.
CanonVsReason
CanonVsReason - 8/9/2026, 9:30 AM
@TheVisionary25 - I'm with you there. I have always seen the MCU as different to the comics as the 616 universe is to the ultimate universe. Thats what the "U" in MCU is. Its an alternate Universe so things are EXPECTED to be different. Like how Dr.Strange from the MCU is referenced in Accross the Spiderverse.

So the "Boo Hoo" its not comicbook accurate is just annoying. Comics and Animated formats work well but not everything looks good 100% translated from the comics
CanonVsReason
CanonVsReason - 8/9/2026, 9:37 AM
@ObserverIO - No just No. I absolutely LOVED brand new day, it had everything I like. The general audiences and people who ACTUALLY support CBM loved it and is the reason it made soo much money. Fake fans like a lot of people on here are the ones crying about Spidey not having actual villains, Jean Grey is too evil, Hulk is getting cucked again blah blah f**kin blah. I watch Brand new day three times I loved it soo much. I don't hate the comics, in fact from childhood to now I have literally thousands over 20+ years. I just know how to appropriately separate comics from the movies. BND although has a comic accurate suit is a departure from the comics and I love it, 1 to 1 adaptions can and do work but I don't cry when things don't appear EXACTLY as portrayed
themawisdead
themawisdead - 8/9/2026, 9:38 AM
@ObserverIO -

don't deflect. he's talking about the absolute twats that IN HERE that complain endlessly yet comment every day, not the fandom as a whole.
TheVisionary25
TheVisionary25 - 8/9/2026, 9:50 AM
@CanonVsReason - I agree completely

People would complain less if they realize these aren’t meant to be the comic universes brought to screen but different interpretations of them.
TheVisionary25
TheVisionary25 - 8/9/2026, 9:51 AM
@CanonVsReason - Hulk getting cuckedcomplaint makes no sense given he technically beats Peter in BND.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 8/9/2026, 9:56 AM
@themawisdead - Yeah I know. I get it. Sometimes people can go overboard there too though. Then it gets to the point that if you have any criticism at all you're a hater. And sometimes things do need to be criticized.
CanonVsReason
CanonVsReason - 8/9/2026, 9:57 AM
@TheVisionary25 - Agreed. Also saying "Oh they did a suns real low again to calm down the Hulk like with Red Hulk in BNW" which if they ACTUALLY read the comics they would see that Hulk gets "talked down" or calm down sooo many times, im looking at one now when Spiderman is fighting Hulk and Hulk calms down because Peter and Hulk connected over trauma, THAT would get the CBM trolls to hate on the lack of an epic finale and such nonsense
CanonVsReason
CanonVsReason - 8/9/2026, 10:05 AM
@ObserverIO - HAHA acting like people on here complain here and there...dude its ALL the time! in fact I get genuinely impressed when users praise a CBM film.

Cant tell the "genuine" criticism from the trolls anymore
themawisdead
themawisdead - 8/9/2026, 10:15 AM
@ObserverIO -

actual criticism is fine, but it gets to a point where even when you engage people on their "criticisms", their reasoning isn't thoughful or doesn't make sense. that's why it devolves into people saying that folks are just hating.
bobevanz
bobevanz - 8/9/2026, 10:34 AM
@themawisdead - someone like me who has been here before the MCU has a right to complain about things. Since Thunderbolts they've been on a hot streak, but including mutants after the snap and/or trying to convince everyone "they've been here the whole time" is [frick]ing stupid and you know it. Blindly praising everything jUsT bEcAuSe is what got them into this mess. Now block me so you can make out with the village shill Visionary who loves everything and doesnt understand why some people don't
