AVENGERS 4 Set Photo May Reveal A New Weapon For Iron Man And Could Shed Some Light On A Big Mystery

We've all been wondering for a while now what that mysterious looking device was in the Avengers 4 behind the scenes photo shared by the Russos and this image might just shed some long overdue light on it.

In Avengers: Infinity War, a large looking device could be seen in the background of the workshop War Machine was reunited with Captain America in. No one really paid much attention at the time but that changed when it was spotted in a photo shared by Avengers 4 directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

They told fans to look closely for what many of us assumed would be a title reveal but a new photo has now surfaced showing the device and that's led to an entirely different sort of speculation today.

As you can see, it bears a striking resemblance to the proton cannon which was wielded by Iron Man in the Marvel vs. Capcom series of video games. Used as the Armoured Avenger's special move, it's become a staple of the character and it now seems as if we're going to see it on the big screen, perhaps as the weapon which takes down Thanos. It's also possible that War Machine could use it.

Honestly, it might mean a lot or very little but this image leaves us with a lot to think about and it will be interesting seeing if and how it ultimately factors into Avengers 4. What do you guys think?
