With the advent of Avengers: Endgame hitting in now under three weeks, the question is being asked by many: Who all is in the film? At this moment, there are 43 actors who are confirmed, either by the studio, news scoops, or just common sense, to be in the film. But if the surprise appearances in Infinity War are any indication, that’s far from the full number of recognizable faces we’ll see in the film.
Before we talk about those, however, let’s talk about the 43 stars already confirmed for the film.
Fist, we have 20 actors that have already been featured in promotional material.
1. Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man
2. Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America
3. Chris Hemsworth as Thor
4. Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow
5. Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye / Ronin
6. Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / Hulk
7. Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes / War Machine

18. Benedict Wong as Wong
19. Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter
20. Ava Russo as Lila Barton
Then there are the 14 actors who portrayed characters shown in the last film as destroyed by the decimation. It’s not exactly a secret they will be returned to the world within the film, with Dave Bautista openly talking about it.
21. Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
22. Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / The Falcon
23. Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man

Then there’s these folks who have been confirmed either by themselves, other stars, or news scoops.
35. Zoe Saldana as Gamora
36. Evangeline Lilly as Hope Pym / The Wasp
37. Michael Douglas as Hank Pym
38. Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne
39. Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One
40. Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow / Crossbones
41. Katherine Langford (as Kate Bishop???)
42. Emma Fuhrman (as Cassie Lang???)
43. Stan Lee, in his usual cameo.
Now, let’s take a look at who else might be in the fim, ranked, more or less, in this author’s personal judgment as to the likelihood therein.
1. Paul Bettany as Vision
This one seems like an absolute guarantee. Even if he isn’t brought back to life by just putting the stone back in his head, we’re bound to see him in some form, even if it’s just a funeral.
2. Ty Simpkins as Harley Keener
The reports that Simpkins is returning to star as Harley in the film are not quite solid enough for this writer to consider it 100% locked. Imdb apparently reported it, and the internet ran away with the idea. Yet we all know imdb isn’t exactly completly reliable. Nevertheless, since this was put out in a twitter post, and not simply added on their site, it seems pretty darn likely that, somehow, Harley will show up.
3. Tom Hiddleston as Loki
While it’s highly doubtful Loki will come back to life again, if the Avengers are hopping around time, it seems likely he’ll show up in some form, especially if the Avengers are hopping around time.
4. Winston Duke as M’Baku
M’Baku was present at the end of Infinity War when the decimation hit. Seeing as how Okoye and Shuri have been confirmed for the film, it seems likely we’ll see more of Wakanda, and therefore, see him too.
5. Florence Kasumba as Ayo
She’s not one of the most conspicuous faces of the MCU, but Ayo has been in every movie that T’Challa has. Like M’Baku, it seems likely we’ll see her in Wakanda.
6. Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver
This again goes to the Avengers traveling through time. Of all the characters to show up in this plotline, the Avenger who got killed before he could have continued adventures with the team seems the most likely candidate.
While promoting Age of Ultron, Taylor-Johnson state that he was signed on for multiple films, which seemed odd given his characters’ demise. Since Markus & McFeeley weren’t even hired as the writers for the third film yet, it doesn’t seem likely Marvel already knew just how we would see him again. Rather, it would appear to simply be an insurance policy.
7. William Hurt as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross
Hurt provided a nice surprise by showing up unannounced in Infinity War. A main storyline running through the films is the Sokovia accords, which Ross is the main enforcer of. It would appear unlikely for Ross to not show up one final time to give a note of finality as the accords are abolished and he’s finally told to stick it!
8. Ross Marquand as Johann Schmidt / The Red Skull
Another big surprise of Infinity War was the appearance of the Red Skull, cursed to guard the Soul Stone perpetually. However, with the soul stone now taken, his fate is unknown. Markus & McFeeley started their writing career at Marvel by writing The First Avenger, so one may venture a guess that they’d bring themselves full circle by giving this character an appearance in the Endgame.
9. Taika Waititi as Korg
With Valkyrie showing up in the film, it appears that we will finally get to see what happened to certain unseen characters from the beginning of Endgame. We can certainly hope that will include the fan-favorite Korg. And maybe Miek too (he’s still not dead)!
10. Jaime Alexander as Sif
Speaking of characters whose fates we never learned, Sif was notably absent from Ragnarok. This means she could still be alive, and with this film being titled Endgame, Marvel would seem to be remiss not to give her some sort of appearance.
11. Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter
Sharon’s romance with Steve has been criminally underutilized in the films, and she did not merit an appearance in Infinity War. Hence, her appearace here may seem farfetched, as we’re not going to take the time to develop that romance NOW. However, we also know we’ll be seeing a lot of cameos, and there are a number of situations where Sharon might show up. Like a funeral...
12. Natalie Portman as Jane Foster
Portman had a notable falling out with Marvel Studios, but seems to have put it behind her, stating that she’d be open to returning to the franchise. Well, there’s no better time to do that than in a surprise cameo in this film!
13. Liv Tyler as Betty Ross
Just another possible surprise cameo. One of the most frustrating aspects of the MCU is their lack of an explanation of anything regarding Bruce Banner’s life after the first Avengers movie. Is he back in public life? If so, why isn’t he with Betty? She doesn’t even merit a mention as he begins to romance Natasha. The Russo Brothers may want to give a final squelch to the unpopular Bruce/Nat romance, so having Bruce be reunited with his true love may be the way to do that.
14. The Young Avengers
With Katherine Langford largely thought to be playing Kate Bishop, and Emma Fuhrman likely as Cassie Lang, it seems that the film will find the time somewhere in its three hours to at least foreshadow the coming of the Young Avengers. Does this mean Wiccan, Hulkling, and others may show up too? Who knows?
15. Literally Anyone Else
The MCU is vast, with 51 Oscar-nominated actors already cast in it. Infinity War proved that surprise appearances from across the characters’ lives are not to be discounted. This could come in the form of anyone from the warriors three to Scott Lang’s three buddies!
We’ll just have to wait and see.
