AVENGERS: ENDGAME Concept Art Reveals A New Way For Thanos To Destroy Captain America's Shield

Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding has shared some jaw-dropping concept art from Avengers: Endgame, showcasing some alternate takes on Thanos destroying Captain America's shield...

Avengers: Endgame featured a lot of epic moments, but one of the most shocking came when Thanos used his double-bladed sword to destroy Captain America's shield. It was a sight familiar to comic book fans, of course, but not one that played out exactly like it did in the source material.

Well, thanks to Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding, we now get to see a couple of alternate takes on one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most memorable moments!

As you can see, the Mad Titan actually uses his fists to completely shatter Cap's shield, and there's no denying that this would have been an undeniably amazing visual to see play out on the big screen. The only downside is that the hero wouldn't have then been able to carry it into battle alongside Mjolnir, and that was even cooler if we're being honest.

When Steve Rogers returned to the present day from the past, he brought a repaired version of his shield with him and chose to hand that to who he hoped would become the new Captain America in his absence: Sam Wilson/The Falcon.

Based on what we've seen in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, though, it will be John Walker who suits up as the MCU's new Captain America.

If he cracked it pretty bad with the Swallow weapon, then this would be plausible

@HeavyMetal4Life - Just in general I got a kick out of the Thanos Copter's propeller being used as a weapon.

Very cool but I like how he hacked it to near pieces with the blade in the movie.

Sure why not. I mean as much as I enjoyed that final battle, and I believe me I did, it was just a bunch of fan service moments. Thanos strength without the stones is soo poorly defined there’s no reason why he COULDN'T have done this in the film
