The Russo Brothers are currently finishing their "We Love You 3000" Tour, which visited nine cities starting with San Diego Comic Con and ending with the Disney 23 Expo. They are signing, meeting and greeting, and passing out free merchandise.
During the Cleveland event, we were able to meet Anthony Russo and talk to him for a moment about one of his previous projects - Community.
Community is a comedy series with a cult following from Dan Harmon, creator of Rick and Morty, and the Russo brothers were best known for directing shows such as that and Arrested Development. In fact, it was their work on the paintball episodes of Community that got them working at Marvel in the first place - and if you look closely, you'll notice a Community or an Arrested Development cameo or easter egg in each of their Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Check out what Mr. Russo had to say about the show below.
CBM: As a huge Community fan, do you mind if I ask you which is your favorite episode?
Anthony Russo: You know, it's funny, because whenever people ask me what my favorite episode is of Community or of a series that we've done, I always end up going back to the Pilot episode.
CBM: That makes sense.
Anthony Russo:There is just so much work that goes into that episode to set things up for a series and to work on character dynamics. Do you have a favorite episode?
CBM: I can't remember the name - but I love the episode where Abed and Annie are together in the Dreamatorium and Annie accidentally breaks Abed by teaching him empathy.
My Friend: The correct answer was "A Fistfull of Paintballs."
Anthony Russo: Two Community fans? (laughs)
What do you think, Community fans? Did you expect the pilot of all things to be his favorite? Let us know which episode you love below!
Community is now streaming on Hulu. Avengers: Engdame is now available on dvd, blu-ray, and 4K.
