AVENGERS: ENDGAME BTS Stills Reveal How Chris Evans Was Transformed Into "Old Man Cap"

Some new behind-the-scenes images from Avengers: Endgame have been shared online, and they give us a closer look at the process which transformed Chris Evans into old Steve Rogers at the end of the movie.

At the end of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers traveled into the past to return the Infinity Stones, but ultimately decided to live out the life he never got to have with his true love, Peggy Carter.

After many years, he did return to the same spot to hand the shield - and mantle of Captain America - over to Sam Wilson, but by then he was well into his 80s, possibly even 90s.

We know that "Old Man Cap" was brought to life via a mixture of prosthetics and CGI, and now some new behind-the-scenes shots (via beforesandafters.com) give us a closer look at the work that went into aging-up actor Chris Evans.

Check out the images by hitting the "View List" button below. Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital platforms, and will hit Blu-ray on August 13.

Evans donned old-age make-up and tracking markers while shooting the scene. VFX would be added in post to fully achieve the desired effect.

So that the team at Lola VFX would have some reference points to work from, an older actor named Patrick Gorman was brought in to double for Evans and mimic his movements in the scene to the best of his ability.

The final product. Marvel really does seem to be head and shoulders above other studios when it comes to these aging/de-aging effects, and has arguably perfected the process.
