For the past 11 years, Marvel Studios has become known for using post-credits scenes that either foreshadows a future film of the MCU or features something comedic. Other times, it resolves a plotline that leaves on a cliffhanger before the credits. But with Avengers: Endgame, it does not have any mid-credits or post-credits scenes. Instead, the end of the credits include a sound similar to Tony Stark forging his armor in the very first film of the MCU --- Iron Man(2008).
What if that sound is someone building something such as Beta Ray Bill forging his own hammer? Or perhaps after making Valkyrie queen of Asgard, Thor decides that she needs a new weapon and is making her a hammer of her own?
Now that the Disney-Fox merger has been finalied, that hammering could be a way to hint at the inclusion of some of the previously unowned characters that the MCU will use in the near future such as Doctor Doom. With Thanos dead, There will be a new big bad that the MCU needs for Phases Four-Six. And no-one is bigger and badder than Doctor Victor Von Doom. In the comics, he's known for being the main foe of the Fantastic Four. Hr also has built a iconic suit of armor with a metal mask to hide his scarred body during an experiment for which he blames Reed Richards(Also known as Mr. Fantastic).
Perhaps, after the fall of the Avengers and all of their time meddling, Doom has found his way to the core reality of the MCU and decided that it was the perfect time to take over their measly world. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously stated that Marvel's 5-year Phase 4 plan will reportedly not include the X-Men. But it may seem likely that the Fantastic Four will take a slot within the next Phase of the MCU.
However, if they were to have actual post-credits scenes in Endgame, they would have 5 scenes in the credits like they did with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. 2 of them would've foreshadowed the X-Men and Fantastic Four will soon be coming to the MCU. Some of them would also foreshadow Spider-Man: Far From Home, Harley Keener taking over Tony Stark's role as Iron Man and have Steve Rogers having the dance with Peggy Carter after returning to the '40s.
Scene 1: Foreshadowing Spider-Man: Far From Home, a crowd of people watches the television in sadness as the news of Tony Stark's death is announced accross the world as Quentin Beck takes delight plessure and smiles.
Scene 2: In the wake of Tony Stark's death, Harley Keener(Ty Simpkins) is given a tour in Stark Industries by Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts. He is really amazed by the Stark Foundation that kids are giving and even sees the Vision's shell in the Cradle(which was last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron), but Happy pulls him away and tells him that if he receives the Stark Foundation, he would carry on the mantle of Iron Man. Keener happily accepts "I couldn't agree more".
Scene 3: Four astronauts, Reed Richards(John Kraninski), Sue Storm(Mandy Moore), Johnny Storm(Ross Lynch) and Ben Grimm(Seth Rogen) are on the radio, although it has become static. They have found a way to travel into the Quantum Realm. Their shuttle flight has went off course. Sue spots "a light". Ben tells everyone to strap in. As "the light" hits the ship, screams are heard and the radio becomes static again as the scene fades to black.
Scene 4: In a comedic scene, upon returning to 1949, Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter catch up on a restaurant as Carter asks where he was. Rogers replies "Someplace I didn't fit in". When a band comes on stage and starts to play a song, Carter tells Rogers that it is time to enjoy the date. He replies, happy with his new life with Peggy "Best date's right on time".
Scene 5: A man in the shadows is walking down the street when two muggers walk up to him and demand that they give him his wallet. The man(revealed to be Logan(Daniel Radcliffe) steps out of the shadows and dismisses them rudely, The muggers draw out a gun and shoot him. As he says "That's it", claws come out of his hands as the scene fades to black.
What do you think of these post-credits scenes in Marvel Studios's Avengers: Endgame?
