AVENGERS 4 Set Photo Points To A Trip Back In Time For Chris Evans' Captain America

Some new photos from the set of Avengers 4 have surfaced and they seemingly reveal that we're getting a World War II flashback. However, with Chris Evans involved, could it be he's heading back in time?

Avengers: Infinity War wrapped filming a while back and the Russos are currently hard at work on Avengers 4 in Atlanta. Not too long ago, some photos surfaced revealing that the movie will feature a flashback to the events of 2012's The Avengers and now some new images have revealed that we'll also be heading to World War II. However, with Chris Evans said to be involved, what does that mean?

Well, it could be that we're going to spend some time with Steve Rogers before he became Captain America or there may even be a glimpse of what he got up to shortly before being deployed overseas.

It's also feasible that Thanos sends the hero back in time and that we're going to get some time travel shenanigans in the highly anticipated sequel. We're just going to have to wait and see but these photos definitely raise a lot more questions than answers! Either way, Avengers 4 is clearly taking us to a lot of different places and time periods and you can share your thoughts with in the comments section.

There is definitely time travel in Avengers 4.

We revisit the first Avengers and now World War II.

I wonder what other eras we might visit. Perhaps this explains where Captain Marvel comes in.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - If i had a time gem i would mess with heroes minds... take them back to when they turned that corner and became and hero and offer then a simple life instead... what if Steve did not become Captain America and get frozen?? What if Tony never got captured by the 10 rings? What if Banner never became a scientist or was in that lab that day?
Thanos could foreseeable offer these possible alternative lives to them keeping them from ever being in the Infinity Stone fight in the first place.

@JonC - They’re definitely playing with time travel.. this is definitely gonna play like a flashpoint story of the MCU. I’m guessing Scarlet Witch or whoever doesn’t die uses Tries to rewind time and accidentally screw up the timeline . It’s actually pretty clever

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - And we revist Civil War because Crossbones was on set.

I wonder if Thanos Dr. Strange goes back in time to various major MCU events to retrieve and "hide" the tesseract from going to Asgard.

That's awesome news, especially since The First Avenger is one of my absolute favourite Superhero movies, just liked the innocence of Cap and good nature of the movie.

@SimplyAz - i maintain that the first avenger is the most underrated mcu movie. Fantastic performance from Evans, great setting, wholesome fun tone, one of the best mcu scores, a crazy scenery chewing villain, and the best romance in the mcu. i really enjoy that movie.

@SimplyAz - you ain’t kidding. There was a period where I watched that movie like.....34 Times. And that game that came out alongside it.....holy crap I know what I’m doing tonight.

Cap: First Avenger is one of the greats. Now that I think about it, it might be in my top 5 CBMs.
