"10 things I lifted from IMDB you've actually known for over a decade" just didn't have the same ring, did it?

This movie sounds absolutely terrible.

@19Batman84 - yeah I couldn’t envision one part of that movie that made me excited to see it.

What do you do with a character that has absolutely been beaten into the dirt? Not that there's anything wrong with Batman but the story has been told so many ways that there are very few surprises left. What ultimately happens is that in the quest to do something a little different than the last time you wind up with a character that is almost, but not completely, unlike Batman.

@HamiltonParker - Welcome Back! Not to alarm you but this guy JoshWilding is copying your writing style. Its almost like he wants to be you!

Stay safe!

I remember reading about it years ago when it was first in development and I'm so glad it never got made. WB were trying to redeem themselves after Batman & Robin and wanted a more grittier Batman. This take though, it was too far removed from the Batman mythos and I think it would've alienated audiences against Batman more. It was a Batman movie in name only. I'm glad they scraped it and went with Nolan's take instead.

I've always been fascinated by what this movie could've been. I'm glad we got Batman Begins instead, and as a film adaptation I feel like it would've been quite frustrating to watch even if it was a good movie in its own right. But I'd absolutely LOVE if Aronofsky could collaborate with DC Comics and bring this vision to life as an Elseworlds graphic novel, I think it's perfect for that.

At what point do you write a script and just realize: Ya know, maybe I just want to create a different character and write them instead?

That's what this kinda feels like, to me. "Hey, Batman seems cool, but what if he lost the majority of his supporting structure story."

Maybe it could've been cool to watch, but why not just develop a different character?

Aronofsky's Batman might be good as elsewhere world Batman Mythos in a comic book. I dig where batman captures a drug dealer and force him to eat the cocaine!
