GOTG Star Dave Bautista Says He Met With Warner Bros. To Definitively State: "I Wanna Play Bane"

Dave Bautista (GOTG, Army of The Dead) has made no secret of his desire to play Bane, but the actor has now revealed that he actually took a meeting with WB to ask the studio to cast him in the role.

Dave Bautista has spoken about the prospect of playing a new take on Bane in the DCEU several times in the past, but the Guardians of The Galaxy actor has now revealed that he actually took his campaign to be cast as the villain directly to Warner Bros.

While being interviewed for Justice Con alongside Army of The Dead director Zack Snyder, the former WWE Champion was asked which DC Comics character he'd most like to play if he had the opportunity.

"It would be Bane, all day. It is no secret," he replied. "I really want to play Bane. I want to play Bane so much that I went to Warner Bros., had a meeting with them, had a meeting with DC, walked through the door and said, 'I want to play Bane. I'm not kidding. They said, 'Wow, wow. We're not even looking for anyone for Bane.'"

Snyder added that while he felt Bautista playing the muscle-bound Batman baddie might be a little "on the nose," he's accepted "the fact that it's going to be Bane," and really wants to see him land the part.

We're not sure when Bautista had that conversation with WB, but it's hardly surprising that the studio has no imminent plans to introduce a new version of Bane when the future of the Batman franchise seems so uncertain.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Dave Bautista suit-up as a new take on Bane? Let us know in the usual place.
