THE BATMAN Debuts An Explosive TV Spot As Director Matt Reeves Releases The Trailer In Jaw-Dropping 4K

It was one heck of a weekend for The Batman. DC FanDome was main evented by the trailer premiere and that's all fans have been able to talk about since. Unlike the rest of Warner Bros.' 2021 slate, the DC Comics adaptation will play exclusively in theaters next year, and the studio no doubt feels they've got a massive hit on their hands (based on the trailer, we'd have to agree).

Now, a TV spot for The Batman has been released that doesn't feature any new footage, but is suitably epic. Recutting that trailer, it's sure to get you excited for Robert Pattinson's debut as the Dark Knight. This is currently airing on U.S. TV to promote the release of the latest trailer.

Speaking of which, director Matt Reeves has now shared a 4K version of the sneak peek that is definitely worth checking out. The visuals in this movie are absolutely out of this world, and the filmmaker took to Twitter to say, "Watch the 4k trailer for [The Batman] on film now, the way it will be shown in theaters."

Watch both of these previews for The Batman below:

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne.

Also in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022.

This is a beautiful trailer. I'm so excited. Planet of the apes was beautiful too so I'm not surprised.

@Homen100 - man that 3rd one, took me forever to finally watch it, and I was thoroughly bored. Like they could’ve finally started wearing clothes or something, ya know, somethin to up the ante, change the dynamic. Like a sign of rebellion within the apes’ ranks, and just in time for the astronauts to land, and have a good Charlton Heston type land, right after Caesar dies. I’d say Gerard Butler. And then we see Caesar DIDNT die. And Butler kills him! Whole new trilogy but now from the human perspective.

It'd be a plot twist if this Riddler knew how to fight just as well as Batman, lol

@KWilly - I mean, it'd be a plot twist but not a very good one. One of the interesting things about the riddler is that he can't fight his way out of an encounter with him and needs to use his incredible intelligence. Plus I'm just not buying Paul Dano as someone who can fight on the same level as batman. Especially this batman.

Definitely shows potential, but we shall see, hopefully sooner rather than later.

''Hi, could you please make a question mark on my coffee?''

''Why?''

''I dunno lol, people must know who I am...''

...

Anyway great trailer, even though I enjoyed the first one more.

@UXASIS - Aaw should've answered the "why" with "guess" lol

@UXASIS - I mean that mightve been something he did himself.

@Origame - In that case, I wanna see some flashbacks about how young Riddler became a professional coffee worker.

It would give his character some depth.

@UXASIS - or he spent like a minute watching a YouTube video.

@Origame - Doesn't change the fact that it is weird.

Why did he do it? Why include such a cheesy, pointless thing?
Origame
Origame - 10/18/2021, 10:36 AM
@UXASIS - ...are you seriously asking why would the riddler find a way to put a question mark at the scene where he was arrested (and probably planned on doing so)?

@Origame - ''Hm, I'll get arrested, but I will put a question mark in a coffee to confuse the frick out of the cops and Batman...''

Yeah, great.

@UXASIS - aka, riddler being in character.

The only moment of the trailer that concerned me was when Pattinson slams the glass window with his fist and shouts "What have you done!?"

His delivery of that line.... and how he stares afterwards lol... idk... it wasn't intimidating in the slightest, and I know it was meant to be. That moment gave me real concern... but literally everything else in the trailer is magical.

Still..... I've rewatched it maybe 30 times since it dropped and that one moment feels so weak.... it actually makes me slightly cringe. Something about that moment is just not it for me. He's trying to seem so mean and angry and THREATENING and I'm not even kinda buying it in that one moment.

@ElricReturns - I think Batman feels powerless because he couldn't stop something. Powerlessness causes anger. Then, Batman hits the glass.

Selina's nails around 1:35.

Gross.
