THE BATMAN Featurette Reveals Incredible New Behind-The-Scenes Footage Of The Dark Knight And Catwoman

DC FanDome concluded with an epic trailer for The Batman (you can watch that by clicking here), but shortly before Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson, and Zoë Kravitz introduced the footage, Warner Bros. shared a behind-the-scenes featurette. In the video, we get some great shots of characters like Batman, Catwoman, Alfred Pennyworth, and Detective Jim Gordon in Gotham City.

There aren't necessarily any major reveals, but there's a pretty decent shot of The Riddler, and we're definitely intrigued by the Dark Knight seemingly beating a goon with a baseball bat.

This Batman is quite clearly a force to be reckoned with, and while we're hoping he's not a killer like Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader, the vigilante certainly doesn't appear to be pulling his punches. That's evident from this sneak peek, anyway, and even behind the scenes, the visuals look stunning.

Take a look at this new featurette for The Batman below:

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne.

Also in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022.

This movie looks mind-blowing, and possibly the best Batman movie yet, but I sincerely hope the movie ends or the sequel has a more refined suit.

@RageDriver2401 - Yeah, I feel the same. The only thing with the film that I'm not 100% on board with is the suit and Bruce Wayne's 'angsty' look. I think we'll see that develop over the course of the Trilogy.

@RageDriver2401 - undoubtedly he will upgrade. Reeves is putting Bruce through the ringer and he’s gonna have quite the character arc at least based on the latest footage and all that. It looks like it’s gonna be one hell of a ride!

@HubbleFunk - this is a boy who watched his parents get murdered in front of his eyes. That boy stopped developing in the same way he was prior to that alley. Something in him just stopped progressing, he snapped. That emptiness hasn’t ever been shook. He feels his life (his family) was legitimately stolen from him. And Batman is the repercussion of that moment in the alley. “I don’t care what happens to me”
This Bruce welcomes death, he welcomes gunfire with gritted teeth and fists.

This is pure, early Batman and I’m so [frick]ing here for it.

When they make a Prince movie, Zoe Kravitz should play him.
I thought that was a picture from the Batdance video.

I don't entirely agree with what Matt Reeves says about "grounding it the way Year One does" - that's basically Batman Begins, which is also the only origin film we've had.

The only difference I see between "Batman Begins" and "The Batman" is the former is still a family film, while the latter looks like it's pushing it closer to a 13+ age.

I'm definitely excited about his portrayal of Gotham being more English & gothic while Nolan went for Chicago & art deco.
