We figured we'd be waiting until the new year for another look at The Batman, but Warner Bros. has just shared a belated Christmas surprise by dropping what we assume will be the final trailer for Matt Reeves' upcoming reboot ahead of its March release.

This latest teaser features quite a bit of new footage, as Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight joins forces with Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) to put an end to the rising criminal empire in Gotham City. There are action-packed shots of the dynamic duo (sorry, Robin) facing-off against various goons, as well as more of Paul Dano's enigmatic take on Edward Nashton.

Will the riddle-obsessed villain ultimately be revealed as the movie's big bad, or is someone else pulling the strings? This trailer definitely drops a few hints that there's a wider ranging conspiracy at play here.

"Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens."

“When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.”

The Batman is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.

@MatteMan - exceptional!

I 100%... 200% believe a comic book movie will win best picture someday, but it's gonna be something like THIS, not No Way Home Alone.

Each trailer gets better and better! I love the dynamic between Bruce and Selena.
The one knock I had with the Nolan films were how he filmed his fight scenes, I see no issues with that here.
That’s a relief!

@Cbmfilmjunkie - Exactly, it seems the fight choreography in this is so much better than the Nolan movies.

@PrinceOfPersia - IMAX has improved action cinematography in the post-Bourne era because there aren't so many damn quick cuts, and you can't get in so close. That whole "hyper-realism" style basically [frick]ed over stuntman and fight coordinators, whose work got lost in a whole lotta "wooosh."

@WakandaTech - now I don’t mean to criticize but why is Black Adam your most anti anticipated? I’m just curious.

@WakandaTech - Black Adam could go either way. If he still a villain at the end, I can see it as my favorite. If he ends up joining the Justice Society, I will be disappointed.
