THE BATMAN (Low-Res) TV Spot Features Lots Of New Footage As The Dark Knight Matches Wits With The Riddler

A new TV spot for The Batman has been released featuring even more amazing footage from Matt Reeves' upcoming DC Comics movie, as the Dark Knight finds himself matching wits with the villainous Riddler.

Last week, Warner Bros. celebrated Christmas by releasing a new trailer for The Batman, and that's now been followed by a TV spot (in low-res, unfortunately) featuring lots of new footage from the movie.

It looks like director Matt Reeves has embraced the source material in a big way for this "Year Two" adventure, and we see some great shots of the Caped Crusader in action here. Gotham City looks like a character in its own right, something that hasn't really been seen on screen since Tim Burton's movies.

We're now just a few months away from The Batman arriving in theaters, and the marketing campaign is bound to pick up in a big way from here. It doesn't feel like we need another trailer at this point, but we're sure to see more TV spots like this one as hype continues to build.

The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.

Joining Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - because this has snippets of new footage and it’s not released in high res? I thought that was pretty clear?

On the floor of the Riddler's hideout is a road map with the words "A REAL CHANGE" written in the middle.

If you take out the letters G-R-E-E-N (Riddler's trademark color) you are left with the letters A-A-L-C-H-A. Numerically this is 1,1,12,3,8,1. If you add up the digits, numerologically it is 1112381=17=8.

The number 8 is a loop. Any loop road in the shape of a figure 8 would need traffic lights in the middle to prevent accidents.

Accidents are bloody. Blood is red.

If the traffic lights changed from "G-R-E-E-N" to red, it would indeed be "A REAL CHANGE".

Ergo: The Riddler is going to cause a massive road accident in mid-town Gotham!

Come on, Robin, we haven't a second to lose!
