THE BATMAN PART II Receives Possible Updated Production-Date Amid Hollywood Strike

The Batman Part II may have finally received a potential date to begin its production, but per the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA Strike which is currently equipped to move forward going into the new year of 2024, those plans could somewhat potentially change.

According to the FTIA Productionlist website - which has been previosuly updated yesterday, The Batman Part II is currently slated to begin its shooting on November 6th of this year, in London, United Kingdom.

The ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA Strike does not sound like it is expected to meet an agreement for fair compensation wages by then, which could heavily impact the film's desired shooting-date, and halt its production like so many other projects currently.

The Penguin HBO Max limited-series is set to be a prequel to The Batman Part II, meaning that even if The Batman Part II begins, and/or finishes filming before The Penguin can continue/finish its production, Warner Bros. will wait to release The Penguin first.

We will update you on this matter when, and if more releases about the subject.

The Batman Part II is currently schedued to release in theaters on October 3rd, 2025.

Batman ventures into Gotham City's underworld when a sadistic killer leaves behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator's plans become clear, he must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.

The Batman is a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, 6th & Idaho, and Dylan Clark Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a reboot of the Batman film franchise. The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. It stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.

The Penguin is an upcoming American television limited series created by Lauren LeFranc for the streaming service Max. Based on the DC Comics character Penguin, it is a spin-off from the film The Batman that explores the Penguin's rise to power in Gotham City's criminal underworld.

That seems unlikely.

Well at least nobody will be able to call the sequel a rush job.

The strikes won't end till early 2024, likely February/March.

In October the writers hit the longest strike they have done, this will generate a lot of publicity for them giving them motivation to keep striking.

In November/December they'll get the public sympathy as the 'evil corporations are refusing to accept the requests of the strikers and it's going to impact their holidays'

By the time January/February roles around they'll be doing talks. The actors strike will likely be reaching the longest in history at that point also and the corporations wouldn't want the negative publicity of that also.

Aren't there they things they had to do before production actually starts that they might be working on. Its not like they just show up there with having done nothing for half a year. I imagine it's already delayed and are waiting for the strike ends to see how much the delay will be. Guranteed it's delayed.

hopefully they get a new writing team and drop that try-hard joker. The only thingS i liked from the film was the penguin and the film's visual tone. edward cullen wasn't bad but he had little to work with. and stop with the slow walking shots with the boot spur sounds effects. batman is a ninja not a cowboy.

I feel bad for Matt Reeves. The Batman and the sequel have been hit with some uncontrollable (on his part), BS that keeps messing with his movies. The Batman was delayed twice because of Covid and now part 2 has been delayed because of a strike.

Clayface, Man-Bat, and the Monster Men with Hugo Strange as the mastermind behind it all.

I'm pretty sure Reeves can do unimportant filming or shots that don't require actors work.
Nolanite out.

I'm guessing that if Matt Reeves is also the writer, he can just keep writing. Without actors though, it might be hard to get to filming though. Unless he's also gonna fill that role

Major villains aside, if Jeremiah Arkham does not appear in this series it will be a huge missed opportunity!

@VicSage - I want Jeremiah to debut without the last name Arkham. He could be the son of a patient who was in Arkham Asylum during the 60s.

When Jeremiah begins working at the old Arkham Asylum, he investigates and discovers that during the 1960s sexual abuse and abhorrent experiments were carried out there. Cyrus Gold may have undergone electrical stimulation to various parts of his brain.

Also, Jeremiah could discover that he is the bastard son of Martha's father and that he is her half-brother.

@Repian - I think the more interesting turn is that Jeremiah is Bruce's cousin. As they are both Arkhams. Having Bruce be the glorified prince of the city while Jeremiah rots taking care of the inmates of Arkahm State Hospital would be great to see.

Damn, that probably means they have a script locked already? I remember it took Reevs years to write the first film. Anyway, really excited to see Zoe Kravitz again; one of my favorite performances in a cbm.
