We recently learned that Chris Terrio rewrote Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns' The Batman screenplay, but a worrying report surfaced yesterday claiming that it was set to receive yet another rewrite which could essentially see it started over from scratch. Well, you can consider that pretty much debunked as it appears as if we may finally have some good news about the Dark Knight's next big screen outing!

Batman-News recently reached out to Variety reporter Justin Kroll, a very reliable source of information who is tuned into the movie biz in a far more significant way than anyone at Forbes and the site received a positive update about whether things stand with The Batman. In fact, both Affleck and President and Chief Content Officer Toby Emmerich are said to be "very happy" with the script.

 

Good news at last then, but with no director at the helm and some cast members scheduling other movies for the summer, it now appears as if we can forget The Batman shooting any sooner than the Fall. A 2018 release is still possible, but at this rate, we could very well be waiting until 2019...

OK. Hoping Reeves ends up directing. I've loved all three of his previous movies.

Can I get one good [frick]ing movie out of the DCEU? LEGO Batman will be the first good DC movie since The Dark Knight Rises. Step your game up.
