Armie Hammer Is Rumored To Be In Final Talks To Replace Ben Affleck As THE BATMAN - UPDATE
Take this with a big pinch of salt for now, but a new report suggest that Armie Hammer (Call Me By Your Name, The Lone Ranger) has entered talks to play The Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' The Batman...
We recently got official confirmation that Ben Affleck would not be reprising the role of Bruce Wayne for Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman movie, and now we may finally have some idea of which actor is being lined up to replace him in the cape 'n cowl.
According to Revenge of The Fans, Armie Hammer has entered "final talks" to suit-up as The Dark Knight in The Batman.
As you may recall, Hammer was actually cast as Batman in George Miller's now defunct Justice League: Mortal back in 2007, but obviously never got the chance to play the iconic DC Comics hero. So, the studio giving him another opportunity to bring The Caped Crusader to life on the big screen would make a certain amount of sense - they did the same for Henry Cavill when they cast him as Superman, after all.
This report also mentions that Robert Pattinson is "in the mix" for The Batman, but as one of the movie's villains.
ROTF has shared some solid scoops in the past so there's always a chance this is on the level, but until we hear from the trades on the matter we're going to have to treat it as an intriguing rumor.
We'll keep you guys updated, but for now let us know what you think about the prospect of Armie Hammer playing Batman in the comments.
UPDATE: Well, that didn't take long!
