THE BATMAN Clip Makes It Clear Bruce Wayne Will Sacrifice Everything In His Mission To Save Gotham City

A new clip from The Batman was released during The Today Show this morning, and it features a tense exchange between Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth as the importance of Batman's mission is made clear.

The Batman star Andy Serkis made an appearance on The Today Show this morning, and the actor and filmmaker brought a new clip from the movie with him. In it, Alfred Pennyworth warns Bruce Wayne that his company is falling apart, but the billionaire has little interest in meeting with his accountants.

Why? Well, his mission to protect Gotham City as Batman is vastly more important and, as Bruce tells Alfred here, that's a more lasting tribute to his parents than protecting their finances.

Very little of Alfred has been shown in the trailers and TV spots for The Batman, so we don't really know what to expect from the dynamic between him and Bruce. It's definitely combative if this clip is any indication, which is quite a departure from what we've seen with previous iterations of these characters.

The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham City.

Joining Robert Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.

It's always fun watching Batman spout Green Arrow lines since Arrow insisted on making Queen Batmanesque...
