Reports are coming in that Big Little Lies star Zoë Kravitz has landed the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Matt Reeves' The Batman.
Funnily enough, Kravitz previously voiced the character in The LEGO Batman Movie. She joins Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Jonah Hill is currently in talks for a villain role believed to be either The Riddler or The Penguin.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress, who also appeared in X-Men: First Class, won the part after a rigorous testing process which also saw Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049), Ella Balinska (Charlie's Angels), and Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver) read with Pattinson in the hopes of securing the highly sought-after role. Apparently, Joker actress Zazie Beetz was one of Reeves' top choices but prior commitments to Atlanta took her out of the running.
A rumored shortlist did the rounds last week which included the likes of Tessa Thompson and Lupita Nyong'o.
