BIRDS OF PREY Star Margot Robbie Is Anxious To Bring Poison Ivy To The DCEU Alongside Harley Quinn

Poison Ivy won't be making an appearance in Birds of Prey but Margot Robbie has now revealed her desire to bring the character to the big screen and to explore her romantic relationship with Harley Quinn.

When Suicide Squad director David Ayer was developing Gotham City Sirens, it was widely reported that the movie would focus on Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. Plans changed and Warner Bros. started moving forward with Birds of Prey instead.

That will include Margot Robbie's Harley but there are no plans for the other two anti-heroes to appear, something which has understandably disappointed a lot of comic book fans.

Robbie, however, is anxious to bring Ivy to the big screen in the not too distant future and it sounds like she's actively been trying to make that happen. Why? Well, she's intrigued to explore the relationship between the two characters, something we know has often been portrayed in a romantic light.

"If you read the comics you know that Poison Ivy and Harley have an intimate relationship. In some comics they convey it as a friendship; in other comics you can see that they’re actually sexually involved as a couple. I’ve been trying to – I would love to have Poison Ivy thrown into the universe, because the Harley and Poison Ivy relationship is one of my favorite aspects of the comics, so I’m looking to explore that on screen."

Seeing as Warner Bros. has decided against announcing a slate of DC Comics movies, your guess is as good as ours when it comes to where Ivy could show up but it's good to know that Robbie is pushing for that. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts below.

so confused on how much priority this is getting compared to flash on MOS2 -_- #patronizing

if AQ does well , flash is the next step for flash point to reckon and get back on a solid track for DC ................

@knocturnalzen10

I would love an MOS 2. But they’d need to get it right and knock it out of the park.

People forget but MOS wasn’t exactly a huge financial success. One of the many reasons they turned MOS 2 into a Batman movie with elements of Superman.
