The official Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) Twitter page has announced an art competition to coincide with the upcoming release of the movie, and with it comes a much more detailed synopsis for the Cathy Yan-directed DC Comics adventure.

A leaked plot breakdown for the film did the rounds online a few months ago, and this would appear to confirm that at least some of what it entailed was accurate. Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) will indeed be hunting for young "Cass" Cain (Ella Jay Basco), and Harley (Margot Robbie), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) will be forced to put their differences aside and team-up to save her.

The synopsis also seemingly reveals that Harley will actually narrate the story as it unfolds on screen.

Check out the logline below along with a bunch of previously released promo posters, and let us know what you think.

You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

In the Warner Bros. Pictures film, Margot Robbie returns as Harley Quinn, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress; Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary; Rosie Perez Renee Montoya; Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz; and Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis. Newcomer Ella Jay Basco also stars as Cassandra “Cass” Cain in her feature film debut.

Not gonna lie, this doesn't sound terrible.

It's about what I expected from a HQ-led DC movie. We'll see.

Margot Robbie was great as Harley, but seriously, this just looks like an absolute dumpster fire 🤦🏻‍♂️

Exactly. This is the most bizarre, head-scratching direction I have seen a comic book movie go in a long time. I'm trying to figure out who at WB thought this was a good idea...

It also seems to be making all of the mistakes that Suicide Squad did, and the screenwriter doesn't have a good track record. Not to mention that it's continuing this stupid "Deadpool Harley" trend that has nothing to do with the original Paul Dini character. I don't think this is going to do well at all.

I'll be curious to see how this does, especially with the suggestion that Charlie's Angels is going to tank hard at the box office. Certainly, Harley is a property with way more heat to it...
