COMICS: BLACK CANARY EP 2 Released In Celebration Of The Character's 70th Anniversary
DC Comics' Black Canary is turning 70 this year and Caveboy frontwoman Michelle Bensimon is back for another catchy BandCamp hosted EP, continuing Dinah's reinvention as a punk-pop singer.
Remember, that awesome EP DC commissioned from Caveboy frontwoman Michelle Bensimon for Black Canary's DC You solo series back in 2016? Well, Bensimon is back with three new songs to help celebrate the character's 70th Anniversary. The character debuted in August 1947, in Flash Comics #86.
In an interview with CB, Bensimon stated, "Giving a voice to one of the most badass female characters is such a fun, challenging and rewarding experience. Channeling the drama of her history and stories, while maintaining the intimacy and complexity of her voice, has been a really interesting and meaningful project for me, and has helped my own voice grow and shift in so many ways."
Though Black Canary is currently without her own solo series, she's regularly featured in Green Arrow, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey and Justice League of America.
