COMICS: The Original Jay Garrick Is Finally Returning To The DC Universe Thanks To The WATCHMEN Mystery

DC Comics attempted to introduce a new Jay Garrick as part of The New 52's Earth-2 reboot, but now the real deal is coming back thanks to the Watchmen themed crossover starring Batman and The Flash.

Wally West was brought back thanks to the events of DC Rebirth and it appears as if Jay Garrick is next. A new Earth-2 version of the character was reintroduced in 2011 to mixed reviews, but all the signs are now pointing to the original Justice Society of America returning to the DC Universe as part of the big Watchmen mystery which is currently ongoing.

The Jason Fabok cover below comes from The Flash #22, the final part of "The Button" crossover with Batman which will revolve around The Comedian's button after it appeared in the Batcave.

The two heroes look set to investigate how exactly Doctor Manhattan has manipulated the reality of the DC Universe, and it now appears as if Garrick will be a big part of that. DC Comics is taking a slow burn approach to this story, but it's a really compelling mystery and the return of this Flash is definitely going to be welcomed. What do you guys think?

nice it looks mostly the same, but with a few minor updates, that makes it look retro, there is more detail on the boots and it doesn't look like a shirt like Jay use to wear, looks like he is wearing dome type of jacket, like Hunter Zolomon wore in Flash season 2 when he was posing as Jay

I love the flash but I'm not a fan of how much lightning they use on them now.

I'm curious if the straight version of Alan Scott will be next. Because both heroes were founding members of the Justice Society.

@BlackIceJoe - "the original Alan Scott" would've done just fine here.

@OmegaBlack13 - I see what you're saying, but at the same think it is alright, because it is a different version of him. I personally think it would be great if Alan Scott was to meet Alan Scott and then you find out why this one is gay, yet this one is not.

I would enjoy reading how different lifestyles have made each character into who they are. I always enjoy reading good Elsewhere stories like how if this event happened vs this other event where would this character end up.
