Let's face it, aside from Netflix, the TV-MCU has been an epic fail. SHIELD although a pretty awesome show currently, started off very badly. Agent Carter started off strong but ultimately failed in it's second season. Here are 3 Marvel franchises that I would like to see in development at ABC that if done well could succeed where Marvel's Most Wanted and the shows mentioned above failed.

1 - Inhumans (Kings/Battlestar Galactica)

When Marvel announced a spin off series of Agents of SHIELD, many assumed we would be getting a Inhumans TV series. Well now that the movie has been put on ice, I'm going to suggest that we revisit the idea. Personally I think there's tons of potential if ABC made it a Sci-fi Drama series. Now I know you're probably asking yourself uhhh drama? Don't you mean Action? And no I don't mean action but let me explain...

The BSG franchise gave us some of the best sci-fi ever to hit the small screen and yet it wasn't just about the spaceships. What I loved about the series was the characters and how incredibly thought out that world was. From the Military to the Civilians to the Evil A.Is, to how they collided with each other. There was such a depth to everything.
Kings is a masterpiece as well. The show retold the story of David and Saul but in modern day. Creating a fictional kingdom so well developed that it was able to deliver political stories on par with House of Cards.

That's what I want to see in an inhuman TV show. I want to follow Blackbolt's rise to power as the leader and savior of the inhumans, Maximus' plunge into madness and explore the workings of inhuman society.

If you're not familiar with the story, Blackbolt gets reintroduced to society after spending most of his life in seclusion. His brother Maximus however doesn't think he's ready and goes to ridiculous lenghts to prove Blackbolt doesn't have full control of his powers. After almost all the elders suddenly die in an kree related incident, the inhumans are desperate for leadership and turn their hopes to Blackbolt.

The Cast

Robert Kazinsky (Second Chance/Pacific Rim) as Blackbolt, Jack Lowden (War & Peace) as Maximus, AnnaLynne McCord (90210) as Medusa, Lili Simmons (Banshee) as Crystal, Jesse Garcia (From Dusk Till Dawn) as Karnak, Sinqua Walls (Power/Teen Wolf) as Triton, Joe Manganiello (True Blood/Spider-Man as Gorgon, Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) as Ambur aka Medusa/Crystal's mother.

2 - New Warriors (Arrow/MTV's The Real World)

New Warriors tells the story of a brilliant and rich engineer who inspired by the Fantastic Four recruits a team of young heroes to help him clean up the streets of New York. In their first comic appearance they assist Thor in taking down a Juggernaut. But like all adaptations, some changes are required here. We don't have the rights to Mutants, Namorites or Thors and if you ask me New York is getting quite crowded already in terms of active heroes. So here's the show I would like to see picked up at ABC...

I want to see Team Arrow living under one roof. Well not really... I want to see a group of enhanced/powered strangers in their late teens to early twenties try their best to be super heroes. After the fall from grace of the Avengers in Civil War, it makes total sense for a group of cocky, untrained young adults to show up thinking they can do better. I want a New Warriors show that documents them try while unknowingly being manipulated by Night Thrasher's adoptive parents and fighting to prevent a Mad Thinker from taking over the city.

I would base them in Chicago instead of New York and since I'm not a fan of Speedball, we can leave him out and just follow Night Thrasher our mastermind/benefactor/wannabe Ironman, Nova now fully powered by the Nova Force (a limitless energy source designed by studying the infinity stone) thanks to the events of Guardians and the other members listed below.

The Cast

Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits/Utopia) as Night Thrasher, Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) as Nova, Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove) as Justice, Holland Roden (Teen Wolf) as Firestar, Malese Jow (The Flash/The Vampire Diares) as Turbo, Parker McKenna Posey (My Wife And Kids) as Silhouette, Eamonn Walker (Oz/Kings) Andrew Choraka Thrasher's Guardian, Thandie Newton (The Chronicles of Riddick) as Tai Chord aka Thrasher's Guardian, Steven Van Zandt (The Sopranos) as Mad Thinker.

3 - Runaways (Prison Break/Heroes)

Let's be honest, we're all surprised this show or movie hasn't happened yet. It was among the first rumors when Marvel got into the  Live action TV business. In the third season of Heroes, the heroes went up against their parents. Now I'll admit it wasn't the best TV had to offer at the time but it was still compelling to see the kids try to take down their families.

This show requires a even younger cast than my New Warriors pitch because most young adults move out of their home to go to college by the age of 19. That being said, this show would probably end up on Freeform. ABC could definitely take some notes from The recent Shannara Chronicles on MTV or the 100 on the CW which are both excellent shows. Te interesting thing here is that the casting of the parents is just as important as the casting of the leads because they're the bad guys.

The Cast

Kiko Mizuhara (Attack On Titan) as Nico Minoru, Nadji Jeter (The 5th Wave) as Alex Wilder, Brighton Sharbino as Molly Hayes, Mae Withman (The Duff) as Gertrude Yorkes, Mason Dye (Flowers in the Attic) as Chase Stein and Skyler Samuels (The 9 Lives of Chloe King) as Karolina Dean.

Maggie Q (Nikita) as Tina Minoru, D.B. Woodside as Geoffrey Wilder, Anna Torv (Fringe) as Alice Hayes, Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica) as Dale Yorkes, Michael Shanks (Stargate SG1) as Victor Stein and Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time) as Leslie Dean.

I want Inhumans to be a movie with a big budget.
I have never read New Warriors so I dont care.
Runaways would be great if done right, great fancast.

I hate Agents of SHIELD and ABC though and I think that most comic adaptations need bigger budgets (except for some characters like the defenders, for example). The only other show I could maybe trust ABC to make would be Mockingbird.

I also hope its not long until Netflix adapts Elektra, Moon Knight and (maybe with cheaper actors?) Hawkeye and Black Widow.

@Blackreverend Oh and have you thought about Agents of ATLAS?

@BruceWillis - With the robot and the gorilla man? Didn't you just finish making a point about budgets? lol

I have all the Atlas reboot in graphic novels, they're essentially earth's guardians of the galaxy but I'll pass on that one.

@Blackreverend - Haha yeah I would hate an Atlas show but I really love the comics and thought you would like the idea as they have a similar tone and essence as new warriors and runaways.
