Right in time for Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary, Amazing Spider-Man will reach its 900th issue this July with issue #6 of the series' current volume. Writer Zeb Wells will team up with superstar artist Ed McGuiness to celebrate this incredible milestone with a giant-sized spectacular that promises to be one of the biggest showdowns in the wondrous wall-crawler's storied history.

Bringing his iconic artwork to the series for the first time, McGuinness will depict a battle between Spider-Man and the all-new Sinister Adaptoid, a being equipped with the abilities of Spidey's greatest foes (we're sure you can figure out who). The landmark issue will come complete with variant covers by some of the industry's most acclaimed artists, and you can see them below!

"There's nothing I love more than a giant-size Spider-Man anniversary issue, and I'm pulling out all the...ah, what does it matter what I think," Wells said in a statement to accompany these. "Ed McGuiness is drawing a super-sized Spider-story. Who isn't going to check this out?"

There are some spectacular efforts below, including by artists like John Romita Jr., Jim Cheung, Mark Bagley, John Cassady, and Skottie Young. It's hard to pick a favourite, but fans will be spoiled for choice when Amazing Spider-Man #900 finally arrives in comic book stores on July 27.

Some covers are a bit too busy in my opinion, unlike the black and red one. Simple, but effective

Yeah, a list of the artists for each cover would have been nice.

I like the 4th & last covers most. But many good covers overall.

@Rosraf - Please and thank you!

In fact, can we make that a rule of these Variant Cover articles? It would at least give credit to the artists and would generate more interaction with the comics. As of right now, the article seems to be more of just copy/pasting promo pictures from Marvel.

@JoshWilding, what do you think? If you cannot, why?

If Josh can't do it, would another writer care to provide the information in a more complete article format moving forward? I would really love to be able to connect these variants to their artists and just posting them on CBM without credit like this seems a disservice to their already unappreciated work.

The 3rd then Last are my faves, but I gotta say I'm kinda really digging the Blue Webbing one. The art style is a bit rough for me, but I'm actually kinda loving the idea of blue webbing. It's a little bit Raimi but with a twist. I oddly really dig it. I'd be interested to see what a real world movie suit with blue webbing would look like.

Hey, wasn't spider-man turned into a spider monster not so long ago? What happened to that?
