This November, Academy Award-winning writer John Ridley and Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Juann Cabal are teaming up to relaunch the world of Wakanda in the pages of Black Panther #1. Touted as T'Challa's next "revolutionary chapter" in the Marvel Universe, this new era will see secrets from T’Challa’s past coming back to haunt him and threaten the nation of Wakanda.

Fresh from returning from his adventures in space, Black Panther receives an unexpected and urgent message from a Wakandan secret agent. T’Challa must then race against the clock, not only to save his agent, but also to keep his true agenda under wraps. Because if the truth comes out, it could cost T’Challa everything.

Now, we get a first look at the upcoming #1 issue in a trailer featuring never-before-seen artwork.

"It’s a hybrid espionage-Super Hero thriller, but at its core, it’s a love story," Ridley told The New York Times. "And I don’t mean just romantic love, although there’s some of that as well. It’s love between friends. We’re coming out of a summer where we saw Black people fighting for our rights, standing up, fighting in ways that we haven’t had to do in years."

"[It] was really important to me after the year we had where we can have these conversations with Black people and we can use words like love and caring and hope and regret and all these really fundamental emotions that everybody has."

Black Panther #1 is set to be released on November #10. Check out the trailer below:

Now I’m sad. We’ll never get the true intergalactic wakanda arc in the MCU since Chadwick passed

This sounds interesting to me because it sounds like a story we might not see told elsewhere. Also, that image is pretty cool

I am excited for a new voice on this. I liked Coates on BP until the cosmic intergalactic run that ended it. I liked a writer of his ilk trying this in the comic medium but it just did not land the finish for me.

So the comic version of Black Panther and Wakanda has been just converted to the movie version now? Makes sense I suppose, since the film was far more popular than the comic ever was.
