COMICS: 'Cindy Moon' Swings Into Her Own Ongoing Series In First Look At SILK #1

Cindy Moon was bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his powers, and after escaping Ezekiel's bunker in Amazing Spider-Man, Silk is now swinging into her own solo series.

Cindy Moon exploded out of her bunker and into the Marvel Universe when we first learned that she had been bitten by that same radioactive spider in the first arc of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. She then went on to save Peter Parker’s life (more than once!) and traverse the Spider-verse alongside Spider-Woman. Now, as SILK, Cindy is on her own in New York City, searching for her past, defining her own future, and webbing up wrong-doers along the way! Robbie Thompson (writer from TV’s Supernatural) fills this new ongoing series with his unique blend of antics and feels. Featuring stunning covers by Eisner Award winner Dave Johnson and interiors by future superstar Stacey Lee.

Loving the suit. Only wished the mask, or lack thereof, lived up to the rest.
Did she like... seek inspiration from Spider-Man... or did she develope the look and tools on her own? Web shooters and all?
Kinda weird if they ended up so much alike just because they got bit by the same spider.

The amount of different Spider-men is too damn high.

Just stick with Peter Parker. Jeez

The explosion of Spider-People is rivaling that of The Great Mutant Deluge of the 90's. Like back then just being Spider-Man isnt special anymore because now everybody has the same type of power.

OMG WHY DIDN'T THEY WRITE POKÉMON WITH AN É LIKE IT IS OFFICIALLY BEEN FOR DECADES, IS THIS WHAT PROFESSIONAL WRITING OF 2015 LOOKS LIKE??

Just kidding.

Speaking of Pokémon, Dragonclaw is, in fact, related to it. Well, it's not a Pokémon, however it is an existing move called Dragon Claw (exactly, it's Dragon-type move! what a deductive person you are).

Remember back in the 90's when Marvel created a bunch of obscured characters in their Annuals where are those characters now?

X-Treme -mutant who cuts you and hurts you with his mutant power.
Annex - created guns out of nothing.
Raptor - almost like Sauron.
Charon - carried dead and used them to fight others.
Kyllian - tattoos were his weapon
Wildstreak - wannabe Cyborg

All their new creations will disappear eventually.

The amount of stupidity on this thread is so damn high.

@TheRealIntruder
If you actually read any comic books instead of complained about them, you'd know there is a Silver Surfer ongoing being published right now.

First word that came to my mind looking at the interior pages: MANGA

I'm not really liking her costume. I wonder what it would feel like if she had gone with blue instead of red. Hmm...

@LittleDanglyThing Just wait 'till she learns that they went from 150 plausibly collectible catch-em-alls to over 700.

Why isn't Cindy Moon insane or at least a little weird? She spent years locked inside a bunker all alone. You'd think she'd be a bit psychotic.

Battabing - 2/15/2015, 10:22 PM
Man, once upon a time DC was like, "THERE ARE TOO MANY SUPER-PEOPLE!!"

So they whittled that shit down to one, lone survivor.
Granted, now there's Supergirl and Superboy (who's a clone).

Marvel needs to apply a similar culling.

@TheRealIntruder and @DrDoom:

I actually don't mind the number of Spider People that have carried over into the main Marvel universe. It's no different than the plethora of Wolverine variants that have been around for ages, or even the variants of Batman that have existed. I think the 'newness' of the event may be getting you gents down a bit.

With her, Spider Gwen, Peter, Miles, Kaine, and Miguel all around, they have similarities to one another on the surface, but enough variation on the themes and personalities that it doesn't even matter. I just wish my boy Spider Man Noir carried over. He could change to Tarantula and not skip a beat.

@TheRealIntruder You clearly said SS ongoing not previews not to mention his preview for his book is out as well so in both cases you're a moron :P

Why not have a Spider family? Batman has the Bat family and everyone seems to be okay with that.

YUP NOPE...
Sorry a spiderbite isn't the equivalent of a Green Lantern Ring. Find another to bring new characters it doesn't work for Morales and certainly not a second time with her. It seems like lazy work reusing the origin of another hero to create IDENTICAL heroes.
asaka
asaka - 2/16/2015, 11:37 AM
She's fine. I like her. There's a not a lot of Asian female super heroes with their own solo book right now. Asian girls can be superheroes too.
ScionStorm
ScionStorm - 2/16/2015, 12:58 PM
@LEOSTRATOR Already been done.

@asaka IS she Asian though? Just because these interior pages look like a manga doesn't necessarily mean she's Asian. But, anyway, is she really Asian? Now I'm curious.

@ScionStorm - Her name is Cindy Moon (Moon being a Korean family name). Also it's confirmed in her first issue. She's Asian.
