Don't worry, he'll be back in time for The Avengers. (the outline of Mjolnir can very clearly be seen on the Mark Bagley cover to "Avengers Assemble," a book by Brian Michael Bendis which launches a month before the film is released) With the news yesterday that Bucky is also set to return to the Marvel Universe next year, although how he manages that after being stabbed through the chest by Sin's giant hammer during Fear Itself is unclear, it seems that death is beginning to mean even less than ever before in comics. So, start placing your bets for the inevitable (and long overdue in this fans opinion) return of Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch in Fantastic Four #700!

Thor's a god who's father controls the odinforce...if anyone can come back from the dead its Thor...

I know what you mean though death in the Marvel universe is becoming meaningless...they need their own version of the Blackest Night!!! That closes off the doors between life and the anti life...

Isn't this like the third or fourth time Thor's "died" in the last ten years? Jesus, Marvel and DC save the comic industry and what little merit it has left; lower your prices and make a five year no event pledge.

@ CapA - Thats cause he is about 8 years old...when Thor brought him back, he brought him back as a child with next to no memories of his former self...

Comics are turning into a sad one-trick-pony, who still buys crap like this?

Superman dead, then back to life again!

Wonderwoman dead, then back to life again!

The Flash dead, then back to life again!

Green Lantern dead, then back to life again!

Green Arrow dead, then back to life again!

Aquaman dead, then back to life again!

Captain America dead, then back to life again!

Batman dead, then back to life again!

Aunt May dead, then back to life again!

Odin dead, then back to life again!

Jason Todd dead, then back to life again!

Supergirl dead, then back to life again!

Stephanie Brown (Spoiler/Robin/Batgirl) dead, then back to life again!

If people keep on buying this shite then the writers at both Marvel and DC will never push themselves to actually develop decent stories! The best thing about our British comics is that when characters die, they stay dead and the story has value as well as legendary status. None of the death of those characters above means shit any more, just a gimmick to make money out of fanboys stupid enough to fall for the same trick like 20 times!

this is bullshit! they already killed him off
4 or 5 years ago. how f@ckin stupid! Marvel
finally puts Thor on the big screen and they
kill him off in the books. this is the bullshit
that pisses me off about marvel. why don't they
go kill off one of their shitty characters.
...and for the record, that new god of thunder
BLOWS!!

im getting tired of all these deaths then resurrections it doesn't mean the same as it used to
its completely ruined the surprise of it because we all know he will be back.its very disappointing
MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 11/3/2011, 11:11 AM
Here's what needs to happen: Without fanfare they need to kill off characters when the story calls for it, leave about 60% dead, and bring about 40% back. This is called variable ratio reinforcement, and in psychological studies it shows the greatest, most consistent response behavior from subject. In this case that's fan's buying comics. It just makes sense.

Shaman - 11/3/2011, 11:14 AM
This should have been Thor's real end though. Wasn't it "prophesised" since forever? When they killed him before was bullshit. Now, this prophesised death means as much as a plucked asshair that will just grow back eventually. Marvel needs a New52.
MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 11/3/2011, 11:18 AM
Marvel doesn't need a new 52, they just need to calm the hell down with the event stories. Just give me a comic with a good issue every month, not full of crossovers and pointless deaths.

Tanarus is a bullshit god. he's not even a real
thunder god, his name is derived from a river in
Gaul. he's a river deity and his weapon is the
wheel. he sucks, bring back Thor the REAL God
of Thunder.
baldric33
baldric33 - 11/3/2011, 11:40 AM
It's obvious that most of you don't actually read Thor comics. It's well established in their storyline that all of the gods will die over and over again until the cycle of Ragnarok is broken.

@ Inturder

The 2's didn't sell like the first week but they still topped Marvel. And the 3's are getting more orders than the 2's. Nothing more I can say about that......

Shaman
Shaman - 11/3/2011, 11:56 AM
Intruder- Well... DC did suck balls and really did need a huge reboot. But the thing is... this New52 shit isn't even a full reboot. So they still suck balls. What i'm saying is a true reboot could work wonders for both companies in settling a lot of their convolution. When you're up to the point when you have to figure out original ways of bringing back your characters for death because they've already been brought back by pretty much any thinkable way... you're practically sailing on convolution.
Shaman
Shaman - 11/3/2011, 11:59 AM
knossis- Exactly! Even the new ones have a lot of the same shit that they had before. I'm highly dissapointed with this New52. I thought it would have been a much needed breath of fresh air, but it's recycled shit with different sprinkles on it.

@CapA- Loki died during Siege and got brought back by Thor, I believe. So yeah.. he's been a kid for a while now :/
Shaman
Shaman - 11/3/2011, 12:20 PM
Intruder- It's just that after all these events, so much shit has happened that it's now very hard to follow if you haven't been already. I'm all for crossovers happening here and there, in individual books, as long as it doesn't affect other ongoing books, but when a drastic change happens it would be nice if it was permanent. It's not really copying DC since they aren't even doing what they said they'd do. It just taking a fresh turn towards something exciting. Right now, i just can't get myself excited by anything Marvel has unless it's new. Same goes for DC really. Of course that's just my opinion.

SentryIsGod - 11/3/2011, 12:46 PM
Sentry Was one of the deepest and most tragic characters in a long long time. The backlash he gets from readers I will never understand....Plus he was a complete and utter bad ass.

Ripped carnage in half, Ripped Ares in half, destroyed Loki, Destroyed [frick]ing asgard, killed Molecule Man, and took a shot from Thor like it was amateur hour
