In last year's All-New X-Men #40, it was revealed that Iceman was, in fact, gay. This led to a very mixed response from fans, with some praising the move as a way to increase diversity in comics and others saying it ruined a character who has a over 50 year history. Well, whichever side you're on, you'll now have your chance to read the solo adventures Bobby Drake as Marvel has announced, via their Twitter, that Iceman will be getting his own ongoing title as part of the ResurrXion event.
Not much info has been revealed about the ResurrXion event, except that it involves both the X-Men and Inhumans, and this teaser picture promising more info this week.
No creative team has been announced for Iceman, but the teaser picture does have a release date of Spring 2017. It is currently unknown whether it will be the original adult Iceman or the time-displaced teenaged Iceman who will be starring in the series, so we'll just have to wait until there's more info released to get a greater sense into the direction the series will take.
It is also important to note that with Marvel's reliance on releasing teasers ahead of big reveals, look for more announcements of potential new ongoing titles coming this week ahead of the ResurrXion reveal.
