COMICS: It Seems The FANTASTIC FOUR Will Finally Return; Well, Two Of Them At Least

The Fantastic Four have been on the shelf since Secret Wars but a new teaser image points to the team finally reforming. Well, two members anyway! Find out what we mean after the jump...

Due to Fox holding the rights to the Fantastic Four film franchise, Marvel Comics has put the team on the shelf in recent years. Of course, it doesn't help that the team's title wasn't selling well for a while before its cancellation and now The Thing and Johnny Storm have found a place with characters like the Guardians of the Galaxy, Inhumans, and Spider-Man. Reed and Sue? That remains a mystery!

However, a teaser image shared by Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso hints at the return of the Fantastic Four. Sort of. As you can see, Ben Grimm is wearing his classic uniform, but with a "2" where the "4" should be. Is it possible that he and Johnny will team up to track down the missing Reed and Sue? That would certainly make for a compelling story and makes sense with Legacy on the horizon.

We'll just have to wait and see, but let us know your thoughts and theories in the comments section.
