COMICS: Prepare For The Fourth Of July With This First Look At Marvel's U.S. AVENGERS

Marvel's latest Avengers team are as patriotic as can be. With Independence Day right around the corner, get your first glimpse of the characters that make up the red, white 'n blue roster.

Thanks to The Washington Post we have this first look at The U.S. Avengers. The team is led by Roberto Da Costa (AKA former New Mutant Sunspot), who has bought A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) and renamed it Avengers Idea Mechanics. The rest of the roster is made up of Squirrel Girl, POD, Red Hulk, Danielle Cage, Cannonball and Toni Ho as the new Iron Patriot.

This new outfit was formed to take on the threats usually faced by S.H.I.E.L.D., and their first foe will be futuristic villain, The Golden Skull.

So...where are the Avengers?

In a way I can't wait for the movie thing to end so that they stop slapping the Avengers name on every shite book like this.

@Pigdango - on the contrary stop slapping "avengers" on these things so they have a chance at cinematic glory. I love movies, but USAvengers won't see the silver screen because it would be confusing to the general audience. Avengers of the Galaxy or Avengers Hero 6 would have never never seen the light of day and neither will this.

I get Marvel wants to add some new characters. That's great, especially since every classic started out as a new character. But I feel Marvel is changing things far too quickly, and I hardly recognize Marvel anymore.
