In February, Spider-Man, Venom and Carnage are caught in a Death Spiral, a new crossover spinning out of Amazing Spider-Man, Venom, and Eddie Brock: Carnage.

Written by three of today's most acclaimed Spider-Man and symbiote storytellers—Joe Kelly (Amazing Spider-Man), Al Ewing (Venom), and Charles Soule (Eddie Brock: Carnage)—and drawn by Ed McGuinness, Carlos Gómez, and Jesús Saíz, the saga begins in Amazing Spider-Man/Venom: Death Spiral #1, a special one-shot in February, and continues in issues of Amazing Spider-Man and Venom through April.

Today, you can learn about March's Death Spiral chapters, Amazing Spider-Man #23-25 and Venom #255. Making these even more significant is the fact that they're part of the countdown to Amazing Spider-Man #1000.

In the event, Spider-Man returns to Earth just in time to face Carnage, who has just discovered Spider-Man’s secret identity in the mind of his newest host, Eddie Brock. When Spider-Man and Venom team up against the killer symbiote, another shocking secret is revealed as Peter Parker discovers that Mary Jane is the All-New Venom.

It’s a collision course of drama and danger that explodes with the arrival of Torment, a mysterious serial killer who will connect all three of them in a web of death. No one is safe as Spider-Man, Venom and Carnage join forces to figure out who Torment is and stop his killing spree against their loved ones before it’s too late.

Here's what to come in March's Death Spiral issues...

@cyclopsprime - yeah. Maybe you can point me out when he rediscovered that? Been wondering that for a long time. But to answer your original question, the carnage symbiote didn’t know which I guess is just as confusing as he was with Osborn when the latter discovered the fact.

@skyshark03191 - So here’s the weird part. Carnage has been bonded to guys like Norman Osborn, and Norman absolutely knows Peter is Spider‑Man. On paper, that should mean the symbiote knows too. But the comics never really use that. There’s no big moment where the story stops and says, “Okay, from now on, Carnage knows Peter Parker.”

That’s why Eddie Brock: Carnage #10 is such a big deal. The issue literally shows Carnage digging into Eddie’s head and yanking out the memory that Peter Parker is Spider‑Man, and the way it’s written, that’s treated as the first time the book officially says, “Yeah, Carnage owns this secret now.”

The way to think about the Osborn stuff is: it’s background continuity that could have given Carnage the secret, but Marvel never flipped that switch on‑panel. EBC #10 is the moment they finally flip it and turn “Carnage might know” into “Carnage definitely knows and it matters to the story.”
