One of Marvel Comics' most outrageous breakout characters of the past decade, Cosmic Ghost Rider, will return this March in a brand-new solo series.

Cosmic Ghost Rider is set to be written by Stephanie Phillips in one of her first works for Marvel Comics, after debuting on the upcoming Rogue & Gambit series, while superstar artist Juann Cabal will join her.

Since his 2018 creation by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw, this future version of Frank Castle was a mega hit with fans due to his extraordinary origins and his unique style of dishing out justice. The character’s saga will only get more wild in this upcoming sprawling space adventure with even more shocking twists and turns promised by the publisher.

In a far-flung corner of deep space, Frank Castle has eked out a quiet existence, and his days as Cosmic Ghost Rider are finally behind him.

However, across the universe, a vicious bounty hunter is leaving a trail of bodies in his wake and his name is...Cosmic Ghost Rider?! When Frank’s peaceful existence is shattered, he must suit up once more and face his most savage enemy yet:  himself.

"I love the humor and absurdity of Cosmic Ghost Rider, and because he’s a newer character I feel like there’s lots of potential space (pun intended) to push him in new directions," Phillips says. "I’m excited to play with Marvel’s cosmic characters and write something that feels really new for me and for Frank Castle as well."

With rumours swirling that Marvel Studios has plans to reintroduce The Punisher, we wouldn't be shocked if he's eventually taken down the Cosmic Ghost Rider route in the MCU as well. While not the conventional take on the character most fans want, Disney distancing the character from his violent past isn't outside the realm of possibility.

Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 arrives in comic book stores next March.

@thelastson18 - So take The Punisher.

Have him die during a Thanos invasion, by having a piece of a building fall on him after Hulk is thrown into it.

Frank goes to Hell, Thanos slaughters earth.

Frank makes a deal with Mephisto, becomes a Ghost Rider.

Returns to Earth, only Thanos left a long time ago, and the entire planet is lifeless, meaning no punishment.

Fast forward, Galactus comes to Earth seeking help against Thanos, not realizing it's a dead world.

Frank offers to become his herald to get revenge on Thanos, Galactus agrees.

Boom, Cosmic Ghost Rider.

Love the art in all the comics involving Cosmic Ghost Castle. The Clayton Crain covers are awesome.

@Reginator - Despite his head being a flaming skull he apparently still needs oxygen to breathe.

My 10-year-old was inquiring last night about Donny Cates’ run on Venom, and he found it surprising enough that he wanted to know what else he’d written for Marvel. The real-life and comic origins of Cosmic Ghost Rider were then presented to him, and he asked for descriptions two additional times, not because he didn’t get it, but because it was “study hall metal doodling bonkers kinda cool.”

haha that cover... so Frank just randomly discharges his firearms into the ground for no reason... I have a hard time believing it's supposed to be a negligent discharge(s), because this is the punisher, and a tier 1 (at the time) operator.

Or, is this another case of a CB artist who doesn't do a single iota of research.

Sounds kinda dumb tbh. I guess that's the beauty of else world stories though, they can be wonky and silly but still potentially pull it off. Hope it's good.
