More People Need To Check Out Skrull Kill Krew

Dark Reign has spread too far, but Skrull Kill Krew is really pretty cool.

When I went to pick up some comics on Wednesday, I found Dark Reign: Skrull Kill Krew. I had no clue what it was and never heard of it. I thought it was pretty cool, from the cover, I decided to buy the first three issues. When I got home to read it, I found out it was much more than cool.

Reading through the first issue I realized, it had a very unique artistic style to it, with pretty unique characters. Even if the main character Ryder, looks just like the main character from the Bionic Commando reboot for the next gens. Staying on the topic of the characters, the main character is the typical dark, quiet leader example, until a fight goes down and he decimates everything in his path, with really no remorse or empathy. As each issue progressed more characters came to light. The sidekicks all have rather unique abilities, I have never seen before.

The story itself is original and cohesive. The writers provide all of the back story as well. The story was good enough that I can not wait to see what continues to happen. There have been some cameos from big time characters and there is plenty of sex.

I felt that I enjoyed Dark Reign: Skrull Kill Krew as much as I did, because it is able to be really weird, stylistic and edgy because it is a lesser known title and without expectations to live up to. How it applies to dark reign, who knows. I have also read Mr. Negative and Zodiac and neither really have anything to do with Dark Reign. Marvel enjoys the label, so why not. I thought Zodiac was really cool and it the fact that he is obsessed with being a throw back villain, is awesome. Zodiac is a great main character with the ability to really go against Osborn or any other heroes that feels they know how the game is played.

All in all, I am liking these lesser known comics with lesser known characters. It offers very stylistic, original content with really distributed characters. If you are in the mood for something like that, check these out. In the mean time, I will be waiting for Skrull Kill Krew #4.
