SPOILERS: A Major Character Just Returned In An Unexpected Way In ASTONISHING X-MEN #6

We've known for a while now that this character would be returning to the Marvel Universe but Astonishing X-Men #6 finally brought him back to life and you can find out how it all went down right here...

Following Professor X's death at the hands of Cyclops in the pages of Avengers Vs. X-Men, Charles Xavier's brain was picked apart by the Red Skull and he's remained dead and gone ever since. Recently, we learned that his consciousness has been imprisoned on the Astral Plane for hundreds of years alongside The Shadow King and the two have spent that time battling each other for supremacy.

Well, the X-Men recently made their way to the Astral Plane to free Xavier but how could he possibly return to the land of the living with no body? Well, Astonishing X-Men #6 took things in a very unexpected direction by revealing that Charles and Fantomex had some sort of agreement and that's led to the former leader of the X-Men now taking control of the French mutant's entire body!

The fact his speech bubbles are the same colour as the Shadow King's may be quite telling as this does seem rather out of character for the good professor! It's feasible he may have gone insane while trapped in the Astral Plane but "X" is clearly very different to Professor X and it remains to be seen whether he'll still be psychic or will just have Fantomex's abilities. What do you guys think of this?

Okay, question, why is the first image in the article of Mystique if the person brought back is Xavier.

Btw, guys, Bob iger is apparently sticking around with Disney in order to properly integrate the 20th century fox properties with Disney.

@ScarletWarlock - I just read that same article. Good stuff

@spiderman620 - but it's contingent on the Fox/Disney deal going through

@spiderman620 - Yeah, but his whole returning is primarily to insure a smooth transition, which implies that the transaction is inevitable.

@ScarletWarlock - yes, because there would be a long regulatory review and insure a smooth transition. What I was saying is that his staying on is dependent on the deal being made. I for one hope the deal goes through but I won't say it's definite until we get an official announcement

@spiderman620 - Yeah, but like, what I mean is, they wouldn't be bringing him back when he was on the brink of retirement is Disney wasn't really sure that they were getting the FOX assets in the first place. I think if there was no deal then there wouldn't be any news of Iger sticking around possibly, which is why I think this kind of makes it feel certain. But yeah, it's smart to wait, just in case, but at this point the hype has already taken me over, so I'm screwed if this doesn't pan out.

For a moment i thought that Soule was going to reveal Fantomex's real identity.
I'm really enjoying this serie, but Soule is a medriocre writer in my book, and Fantomex is full of secrets and mysteries, just like Wolverine, now i'm not saying i want a Origin 2.0 by Jenkins, but the character has lot of potential to be wasted by someone such as Soule.

Whatever, i'm glad Chuck is back...mostly..he's there...just a matter of time.
He's not the only one, another f*cker came back from whatever shithole he was hiding, i hate that character, a Superman ripoff, and... don't even get me started on WWH II, but out of all this you guys decided to cover this aspect of Marvel Comics... Bless you! :')
