Stan Lee remains one of the most respected figure in comics today, having helped give life to some of the greatest comic superheroes of all time, including Spider-Man, the Fantatic Four, and the Hulk, among others. With the recent blockbuster success of superhero stories on the silver screen in the past 15 years, it seemed only natural for Lee to pop in for short cameo roles in Marvel films. These cameo roles have only continued to expand as the years go by, getting funnier every time. With all the movies that fans have been able to enjoy, there is one in particular that Lee loves the most. According to a Q&A on Lee's Facebook page, his all time favourite superhero film “was the first one that was such a hit, the first Spider-Man. After that [Spider-Man], everything else seemed easy.”

Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, to this day, stands as one of the most successfull and well-received comic book films of all time. The film grossed $821,708,551 worldwide, was nominated for 2 Academy Awards for Visual Effects and Sound, amd ranks in Marvel’s top 5 highest grossing films domestically.

What's your favourite superhero film? Do you have a favourite Stan Lee cameo scene? Sound off below!

@MattBellissimo

Wait a second; how can Stan Lee make an opinion on ANY CBM when all of his opinions on that subject are bought and paid for?

Is this his first genuine opinion on a CBM? Kudos for unlocking the Cadbury's Caramilk secret! Sorry, not that, but something just as rare.

nice pick. SpiderMan is a solid movie. Id disagree about the easy part. i thought CBM's would be blacklisted after certain failures during that same time.

I would argue the first Spiderman is TEN TIMES BETTER THAN X1, and truly started the contemporary superhero film boom.

@ComicsBornAndBred - The original teaser trailer with the "twin towers" was excellent.....but it had to be scrapped because of 9/11......so sad!!!!!

@ComicsBornAndBred - YESS!!!
Dont get me wrong I agree Singer's X-men were revolutionary. But to me they don't hold up well, Raimi Spider-man films on the other hand do not.

I can't wait to see the next Spider-Man film where he's not an almost mute and sulking crybaby (Raimi films) and not a Hipster (Webb films).

I feel that besides the Nolan Batman films, no comic book movies have reached the levels of the first 2 Raimi Spider-Man films.

Some have been very good like IM1, DOFP, Avengers, Cap trilogy, Deadpool, & GOTG but none have been as great & perfect as those first 2 Raimi films.
