Mutantkind no longer has Krakoa, but they still have the X-Men. Over the past few months, new series announcements have revealed what awaits in the team's new "From the Ashes" era.

Set around - and beyond - the globe, the upcoming titles will see new teams assemble to take on emerging threats to mutankind, all while beloved characters fulfil their long-awaited destiny as solo heroes, and other groups of mutants come together to survive a world that fears them now more than ever.

They may share the same dream, but they have different missions. Harkening back to classic X-Men storytelling while embracing the franchise's modern evolution, Marvel Comics has described "From the Ashes" as an exciting fresh start for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

The initiative will officially kick off this July in the pages of X-Men #1, NYX #1, Phoenix #1, and X-Force #1. Today, we have details about August's X-Men titles, revealing more about what's to come for Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Grey, and more...

That NYX cover is the worst, but all those covers are lame....cartoonish. must be the new trend. I always prefer gritty and super detailed comic art

I like all those premises. Characters seem like fun matches as well. Just not sure about NYX though. Title sounds cool, but that's about it

Stegman is not a bad artist at all but the designs he came up with are wack not to mention the way he draws Slim makes him look younger than Bendis' OG 5 X-Men, wtf...

All in all, the creatives behind this relaunch are so sauceless that i'm highkey already waiting for the next relaunch...

Stegman has talent but I dont know whats hes doing here. Slim looks like hes 14 and that is way to much detail in his hair.

That said, Im glad they dumped the Krakoa garbage but I still think they need another iteration beyond this. Its too many books and the flagship teams are watered down because of it. We don't need a Storm or a Jean book. Storm should be leading Uncanny and Jean should be on X-men. Exceptional X-men shouldnt exist. It will be lucky to make it a year.

X-force is a tragedy. It will be centered around Betsy and Rachael being gay for each other and be lucky to make it a year. Both have had relationships with men (Betsy multiple) so this is another flip. This was a good opportunity to get X-force back to being what its supposed to be. They could have added X-23, Cable, Domino, Deadpool and filled in the rest but they screwed it up.

Colossus (missing) and Kitty should be on Uncanny as well and where the hell is Bishop. See this is what I dont get about Marvel. They keep putting characters no one cares about everywhere. Meanwhile, you have established POC characters that are absent.

I wouldn't be reading any of these X-Titles,if I was buying modern comics and that's bad considering that The Uncanny X-Men is the reason I got into them.

So they're still dressing X-23 like Wolverine and even still calling her Wolverine? Come on man. She's a great character with her own identity. Quit lowering her by just making her "female Wolverine". She's so much better than that.

@CorndogBurglar - Her origin book was so cool and when she was on Wolverine’s X-Force team she was such a bad ass. It’s lame that they couldn’t have kept her as who she is.

All of this looks shit.

Krakoa was great, this we had a dozen times before.
Zero interest in the X-Men comics.
