AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: Ben Reilly Is The New Spider-Man In Trailer For Upcoming Comic Book Relaunch

Amazing Spider-Man will be relaunched with next month's issue #75, and Ben Reilly will be stepping up to take Peter Parker's place (we're still not sure what happens to him). Check out a trailer here...

Starting with next month's Amazing Spider-Man #75, an all-star lineup of writers and artists are assembling to usher in a bold new saga in the wall-crawler's storied history on the page.

Creators Saladin Ahmed, Cody Ziglar, Patrick Gleason, Zeb Wells, and Kelly Thompson are teaming up on the thrice-monthly title to shake up the Spider-Man status quo with the return of Peter Parker’s fan-favourite clone, Ben Reilly. Backed by the Beyond Corporation, Reilly is more than ready to take over and be the best Spider-Man there ever was.

But does he have what it takes? And what does Peter have to say about it? This fresh take on the Spider-Man mythos promises to introduce new foes, redefine classic villains, and make us "rethink the whole concept of Spider-Man" according to a press release sent out by Marvel Comics.

Clearly, Peter is going to survive his battle with Kindred when Nick Spencer's run ends, but something surely has to happen for the spotlight to be shifted to Ben instead. He's had a rocky few years since being reintroduced in "The Clone Conspiracy," so here's hoping this run redeems him.

You can take a first look at Ben Reilly’s early adventures as the new Spidey in the all-new Amazing Spider-Man Beyond trailer, featuring never-before-seen artwork from the series.

Amazing Spider-Man #75 is set to be released on October 6.

Will probably go back to the classic scarlet spider suit after. Seems like no replacement suit ever catches on

@dragon316 - that kind doesn’t bother me, it’s how the spiders legs are that’s bugging me.

I loved Nick's run. I think I'm gonna stop reading TASM when his run is over.

This feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth, I know it's been a few years but it still feels like we've only just got Peter Parker back. And considering the way his life has gone since this feels like a big middle finger in his face, sure I don't know why Reilly will be taking over but still.

Oh marvels doing this AGAIN. I swear they're creatively bankrupt, going to the well time and time again to fish out the same stories just recycled into new material.

It will only be until probably issue 100,I believe we are getting three issues a month so it won't take long to get to 100.

The other reason is that Marvel will celebrate Spider-Man's 60th Anniversary next year.
