DEADPOOL 3 Set Photos Show A Wounded Wolverine; Will X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Cast Members Appear In Threequel?

More Deadpool 3 set photos have found their way online, and they showcase a wounded Wolverine alongside a visiting Blake Lively. We also have news on more of the threequel's planned cameos! Check it out...

TMZ has shared a few more photos from the set of Deadpool 3, and while there's nothing too mind-blowing here, we do get to see more of the fallout from the Merc with the Mouth's battle with Wolverine.

As you can see, Wolvie's suit is now riddled with bullet holes and one of Wade Wilson's katanas is currently impaled in Logan's stomach. Ouch.

Ryan Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively, also paid a visit to the threequel's set with their children. One of them can be seen holding a Wolverine action figure, so we're sure seeing Hugh Jackman suited up like this was a really special moment for them.

Additional shots of England's Pitstone Quarry - which appears to be doubling for The Void - have also been revealed showcasing some of the artefacts there (including the massive 20th Century Fox logo).

In related news, a reliable scooper has claimed that, while we're going to revisit the X-Men Universe timeline, it won't be the version we first explored in 2011's X-Men: First Class. So, instead of spending time with Tye Sheridan's Cyclops and Michael Fassbender's Magneto, for example, all signs point to Deadpool 3 instead focusing on the Variants played by James Marsden and Sir Ian McKellen.

That makes sense given Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige's history with the franchise and is arguably what the majority of fans would prefer to see.

Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Jackman, the movie will feature the returns of Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter). Jennifer Garner will play Elektra, while Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen have been cast in mystery roles.

Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.

Good God, why are they giving away this entire fight scene?

And this may be a hot take, but the original 2 X-Men movies were better than the First Class era of sequels. I would even say X3, even though it was a bad movie, was still a better X-MEN film than any of the others that came after it. Because it at least was about the team.

Days of Future Past was good. But it had its same Fox problems as all the others. I couldn't care less about ever seeing those characters again.

@CorndogBurglar - honestly , First Class remains my favorite X Men film of the Fox ones but I do think it should have just been the beginnings of Prof X and Magneto’s friendship as they face Sebastian Shaw.

@TheVisionary25 - I personally couldn't stand First Class. But I also hate when movies are made and are like half prequel/half reboot. It makes no sense at all to me.

So you've got a movie that is clearly meant to be a prequel of the original X-Men movies. But you contradict so many things from those original movies that it stops making sense. There is a gigantic list of inconsistencies in First Class that don't line up with the original trilogy. So many that they immediately made a time travel movie to try and fix things.

First Class itself isn't a bad movie if you can just treat it as if it wasn't a prequel. But to me, it's just a movie that they made to milk off the original trilogy without actually caring enough to make it logically fit in within the franchise.

@CorndogBurglar - fair enough

@philinterrupted - I'll say First Class was the 2nd best of the 4 prequel movies. But it didn't follow any of the continuity laid down in the original trilogy. And at the time they were making a prequel. Which was very obvious. They just didn't care enough to make sure it fit and made sense.

@CorndogBurglar - I agree with the continuity issues for sure. But if you take it on it’s own Merritt, I think it’s a really good movie.

@CorndogBurglar - To be fair, they're not giving anything away; they're just trying to make their movie. It's some bozo up on a lightpole with a camera spoiling the goods.

@CorndogBurglar - I think it's more of the people sneaking on set to get pics.I think the only official pic marvel released was the Deadpool and Wolverine in his suit

@philinterrupted - Good movie if you don't view it as an X-Men movie.

Deadpool and Wolverine in dad mode, gosh darn adorable. And I guessed it from the first photo days ago, but they must be god-awfully hot in those suits.

@MosquitoFarmer - Their daughters must have the most cred at school. Not only their parents, but “This is my Uncle Hugh. He’s really funny!”
