Tickets are now on sale for Deadpool & Wolverine, and Fandango recently caught up with director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to learn more about this long-awaited team-up.

The filmmaker started by addressing the threequel's R-Rating, explaining why it was important to keep the movie in line with Wade Wilson's previous big screen adventures.

"We were clear from the get-go. We said, 'Well, the three of us are going to do this and we've got to be truthful to the tone of a Deadpool movie.' That means we're not softening the edges," Levy said. "We're going to be audacious and funny and edgy, the way I know I, as a fan, want from Logan and from Wade Wilson."

"I have to say, every time Ryan, Hugh, and I went in expecting pushback, we got support from Kevin, from everyone at Disney. They have trusted us and allowed us to do the version of Deadpool & Wolverine that we feel is best."

Talk soon turned to cameos, with the trio refusing to confirm or deny whether we'll see the likes of Elektra, Mystique, and Storm (though Jackman seemingly had to stop himself from smiling when the latter was mentioned).

As for persistent rumours surrounding Taylor Swift as Dazzler, Reynolds responded, "You know, movies like this...there's so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced that Elvis is in the movie. Anything can happen and that's sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool."

Levy added, "We come to this movie...I definitely come to this movie...as a fan. A fan of the X-Men movies and the Deadpool movies. And so, this movie was definitely made with the love of being a fan."

"Wade Wilson and Logan are built to not get along right from the comic books forward," he continued. "These are two characters who are really constructed in a way that's gonna drive the other crazy, especially Logan. He would really, really find Wade a pain in the ass. The relationship and this journey goes places that are unexpected."

"It's audacious. There's sick action, for sure. The relationship and the way that two-hander evolves will be surprising to people."

Jackman had the final word on Deadpool & Wolverine when he noted, "Fans are going to be very happy. I've spoken with fans around the world for 24 years. I feel like I have a connection and I always love talking to them. They've very honest...I've heard not great things about what I've done, I've heard good things, and there's going to be a lot of happiness."

"The thing I want to impress on fans the most is from the moment I read the script that Ryan and Shawn wrote, there was a love of Wolverine and taking care of Wolverine and also a desire to give runway to the character that we've never had before. To express parts of him that we've never been able to do before."

"Something about the dynamic between the characters...you fans will see a different side and I know from what they've told me that they're gonna be, like, 'Yes!'" the actor concluded.

It would have been wrong to PG-13 this beast. Let 'em do it right or bust.

@IAmAHoot - There would have been a riot if it was PG13.

@IAmAHoot - I think you could still do PG-13 well since even the comics involving these characters haven’t really gone into Rated R territory but since the preceding films were that , it just makes sense to keep this that aswell.

I hope TS is not on this. Because that will truly convince me how desperate Disney is.

Im mildly excited so please be good.

@vectorsigma - I think that would less be because of Disney's desperation, and moreso Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy wanting to mess with people

@vectorsigma - I honestly don’t see the problem with having Taylor Swift appear in the movie. I think you are making this political when it doesn’t need to be but if we are gonna go down that route then I’ll say this, Disney still need to be Disney. The biggest media corporation in the world, of course they need to enforce their little agenda into the movie. The good news I can assure you is that her screen time isn’t that much (they couldn’t afford her for that long lol). Her appearance is essentially nothing more then a glorified cameo.

@vectorsigma - If Taylor is not in this Disney will look weak.

@TheMetaMan - im not actually thinking of it in a political way.

She might be shoved in on this to boost the box office and pull the swifties into seeing this - no matter how much the screentime.

I think Shawn Levy said it best at 15:47:

"[...] The fact that we were willing and comfortable making idiots of ourselves because we're friends off-set, I think that allowed for some experimentation and surprises that make the movie better."

Cool , looking forward to it!!.

I wonder what sides of Logan we haven’t seen before we’ll see in this since he was such a focus of the X-Men films and his previous 9 appearances fleshed him out alot…

Even the down on his luck and in need of redemption version has been done before in Logan so we’ll see.

Regardless , the dynamic & chemistry between Jackman & Reynolds ( thus Wade & Logan) seems great!!.

@TheVisionary25 - I imagine we are gonna see an amalgamation of all the Logan personas rolled up into one.

@TheMetaMan - I guess but even then it seems he meant sides we have never seen before but that could be a bit of a trick answer since we are dealing with variants so we might get very wild versions of Logan

@grif - I’m not a swift fan either but if she is in this I suppose it’s the one time she will prove to be useful. How best to explain it? Well it’s like Pro-wrestling beforehand I never liked Logan Paul but now he’s a legit WWE superstar and a damn good one at that, I like him. He’s proven to be useful. Same with Swift, I’m sure there will be some fun in watching her interact with Logan & Wade as Lady Deadpool.

Taylor Swift is in the movie.
This guarantees probably $250 extra million.
