ALADDIN Teaser Unveils Our First Official Look At Will Smith's Genie In Blue Form
Disney released a new TV spot for the upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin during The Grammy Awards, & it gives us a first official glimpse of The Genie (Will Smith) in his blue, CGI form. Check it out.
Disney has finally unveiled our first look at Will Smith as the fully CG Genie via a new TV spot for Guy Ritchie's Aladdin, and he's certainly... blue!
The new teaser begins with Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) outside The Cave of Wonders, before we get brief glimpses of some other well-known moments from the original animated classic, including the Agrabah parade and Jasmine (Naomi Scott) taking Aladdin's hand as they prepare to embark on a magic carpet ride.
But the big reveal comes when our young hero enters the cave and Smith's Genie is presented in all his... glory?
To be fair, the character design is practically identical to the animated version, but it's clear that a bit of work still needs to be done to smooth out the motion capture FX. At any rate, we're going to reserve judgment until we see a little more of the big blue fella in action, but be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.
