Actually I have been kinda hoping this was the case. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.
Origame
Origame - 1/28/2018, 9:06 AM
@TheUnworthyThor - Well the animated ones are already linked so why not (not even kidding. It's been confirmed by the writers of Frozen that Elsa's parents survived the ship wreck and left baby Tarzan there)

Eh, not so much.

Only if you want it to be, but not really.

@Battabing - ...so the makers of these movies isn't proof of anything?
Battabing
Battabing - 1/28/2018, 6:12 PM
@Origame -

The maker of the movie said if you want to believe they're connected, feel free.
Problem is Tarzan's and Elsa's parents look nothing alike.
Tarzan's parents are British aristocrats, while Elsa's are Norwegian royalty.

Again, feel free to engage in all the fanfic you like.
Origame
Origame - 1/29/2018, 6:07 AM
@Battabing - This just sounds like you refuse a connection confirmed by the film makers. That wasn't even a fan theory they proposed and talked about how they envisioned it playing out that way (and no where did they mention in Tarzan anything about his parents. And no, what the source said doesn't count since the villain has Tarzan's family name)
Battabing
Battabing - 1/29/2018, 9:22 AM
@Origame -
I couldn't give two shits, my friend. One director shot down the theory. The other said go with it if you want. I already said have at your fanfic.

It doesn't change the fact that Tarzan's parents and Elsa's parents are different people. That's animated Disney canon.

@Battabing - http://www.nme.com/news/film/frozen-tarzan-fan-theory-1936299
Yeah you're wrong. Nowhere here does the director say "believe what you want". And this confirms the other director talked about the theory too, so I doubt the other director shot it down.

And it really does sound like you do care.
Battabing
Battabing - 1/29/2018, 10:49 AM
@Origame -

So in my little head, Anna and Elsa's brother is Tarzan -- but on the other side of that island are surfing penguins, to tie in a non-Disney movie, 'Surf's Up.' That's my fun little world."

"I say, whatever people want to believe, go for it," Buck said. "If you want to tie them all together, then do it. That's the spirit of Disney."

Carry on with your fanfics, friend.
Origame
Origame - 1/29/2018, 10:54 AM
@Battabing - So...you have a separate interview saying you can view them as connected or not then? Doesn't counter my article saying they're connected nor does it verify the point you made about a director debunking it. You're bad at this.
Battabing
Battabing - 1/29/2018, 11:02 AM
@Origame -
What is your problem?
I told you the director said if you want to connect them, fine. But he's not confirming anything. He even threw in non-Disney characters partying on the other side of Tarzan's island. Most importantly, Disney hasn't confirmed anything.

Elsa being Tarzan's older sister is stupid on its face, but you do you.
Origame
Origame - 1/29/2018, 11:11 AM
@Battabing - What's my problem? You're the guy coming on here saying "believe what you want but you're wrong". THAT'S what's wrong with me. YOU. Now if you want to treat this as not connected, then fine. But there's plenty saying they are. Now get over yourself.

This is all preparation for a Kingdom Hearts live action movie
SonOfAGif

Would prefer it be a Disney villains film. Where Cernobog wants to plunge the worlds in Darkness and the villains led by Malificent choose to take him on because their pride refuses to allow anyone attack those they hate.
Pantherpool
Pantherpool - 1/28/2018, 9:01 AM
@SonOfAGif - That would be cool actually. They haven't started filming Maleficent 2 yet so they could make some changes... like include a post-credits scene.

How is Ghostbusters an example of a failed attempt at a cinematic universe?
TheDayman
TheDayman - 1/28/2018, 8:50 AM
@528491 - Sony was planning on using the reboot as the start of a new expanded universe, with a variety of live-action movies, animated movies, and TV shows. It was all going to be under the Ghost Corps subsidiary. So it's not exactly a cinematic universe in the same vein as the MCU or the Dark Universe, but they were trying to build a film universe around Ghostbusters.
528491
528491 - 1/28/2018, 8:55 AM
@TheDayman - I see. For me, a Shared Universe has to be one in which multiple distinct properties or individual series interact via a shared framework of people, places, groups and histories. Otherwise, its not a Shared Universe, it's just a Ghostbusters Universe.

Throw something like Men In Black into the mix with the Ghostbusters though, and that's a different matter...

@528491 - you are correct Sir.
TheDayman
TheDayman - 1/28/2018, 6:34 PM
@528491 - Yeah, that's true. It's a bit of a stretch to call Ghostbusters a cinematic universe. Though who knows what they were planning?
RockBottom
RockBottom - 1/28/2018, 8:49 AM
A 3D animated shared universe is not a bad idea. Better than live action.

I don't want to a live action shared Disney Universe but I wouldn't object to an animated one. I want the Disney Princesses from the animated movies to meet each other not Emma Watson's Belle and WHats her face's Cinderella.
ImBatman4realz
ImBatman4realz - 1/28/2018, 8:55 AM
This will never happen and is an article grasping at straws. Each of the Disney movies are their own entity and have nothing to do with each other. Favreau's Magic Kingdom is a Disney version of Night at the Museum. Just read about it. None of this information points to anything other than the author's wishful thinking. A combined 'shared universe' of Disney characters would be dumb too.

Do a Kingdom Hearts movie instead and that will work.
kRAVENklaw
kRAVENklaw - 1/28/2018, 8:56 AM
All I want is a Peter Pan remake and a more faithful adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Maybe a Hunchback of Notre Dame remake too (with Sir Ian McKellen as Judge Claude Frollo).

HOWEVER.

A crossover plot COULD work. It would be hard to make work and would feel... Muddled. But it could be interesting. Maybe something like Maleficent has but together a team of Disney villains that's made up of, say, herself, the Evil Queen, Captain Hook, Jafar, and Hades or something and they're trying to get the wand of the Blue Fairy so they can bring Chernabog back to life, and some Disney heroes like Peter Pan, Aladdin, Tarzan, Hercules, or who the [frick] ever (I don't know putting together a Disney heroes team is harder than putting together one for the villains) have to band together to stop them. Like I said. Muddled, but if done right COULD work.

Oh, and Uncle Remus could be the Nick Fury that brings them all together (joking).
kRAVENklaw
kRAVENklaw - 1/28/2018, 8:58 AM
@kRAVENklaw - Oh, Ursula as one of the villains too.

I know who should play Prince Eric in the Little Mermaid remake.

But Disney should schedule reshoots before he decides to do another MI film.
