Haunted Mansion is set to hit theaters this August, and Disney (via FearHQ.com) has now released a final trailer for its upcoming big-screen take on the iconic theme park attraction, featuring plenty of new footage from the kid-friendly horror comedy.

Though the movie will reportedly be a family-friendly adventure, this teaser does contain some pretty creepy moments, and if the first social media reactions are any indication, Haunted Mansion won't hold back when it comes to a few genuine scares.

Overall, these reactions are fairly positive, although the humor is said to be a little hit-and-miss, and, not too surprisingly, it doesn't sound like the movie is going to win any points for originality.

With the SAG-AFTRA strike now underway, actors are prohibited from doing any promotion for their respective projects, so Disney enlisted the likes of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and some of its other most famous characters to walk the red carpet at the Haunted Mansion world premiere instead.

Check out the reactions, new trailer - which gives us a first glimpse of Winona Ryder's character - and some video from the event below.

Directed by Justin Simien, the film features an all-star cast ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Daniel Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.

Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, Haunted Mansion is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.

Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are on board as producers, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

Huge fan of the ride ever since I was ten years old. I like what I have seen so far and was really disappointed with the 2003 film.

I'd watch just for DeVito.

@ModHaterSLADE - Dude, I'd watch an hour-long video of DeVito reading a phone book (do those still exist? I haven't seen one in years). Well, you get my point.

This project I can already SEE this for what it is, a DISNEY IP that checked the Diversity and WOKE boxes first and second. An ACTUAL good story is NOT MANDATORY. USUAL Disney reaction after a movie fails: Call the fans. Racist, Anti Feminist and of course Anti LGBTQ. You KNOW that's gonna be in this movie. I'm NOT against them . making WOKE movies, I just get TIRED of getting blamed for choosing NOT to support it

The fact they had Disneyland employees on the red carpet premiere tells me all I need to know.

@Nightmare - The actors are on strike and the movie is ready to go, who are they supposed to have in the red carpet then?
Floke

@Urubrodi - Nothing. To honour those on strike perhaps?

@Floke - How the hell did they dishonour them? Would it be better to not have a premiere to the movie? Jesus you people are petty

@zeon00 - Just like with the original ride, they were trying to go to the right balance of fun and scary. Supposedly his version was going to be too scary.
