Haunted Mansion is set to hit theaters this August, and Disney (via FearHQ.com) has now released a final trailer for its upcoming big-screen take on the iconic theme park attraction, featuring plenty of new footage from the kid-friendly horror comedy.
Though the movie will reportedly be a family-friendly adventure, this teaser does contain some pretty creepy moments, and if the first social media reactions are any indication, Haunted Mansion won't hold back when it comes to a few genuine scares.
Overall, these reactions are fairly positive, although the humor is said to be a little hit-and-miss, and, not too surprisingly, it doesn't sound like the movie is going to win any points for originality.
With the SAG-AFTRA strike now underway, actors are prohibited from doing any promotion for their respective projects, so Disney enlisted the likes of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and some of its other most famous characters to walk the red carpet at the Haunted Mansion world premiere instead.
Check out the reactions, new trailer - which gives us a first glimpse of Winona Ryder's character - and some video from the event below.
Directed by Justin Simien, the film features an all-star cast ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Daniel Levy, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as The Hatbox Ghost.
Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, Haunted Mansion is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.
Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are on board as producers, with Nick Reynolds and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.
