Hello fellow Nerds! Longtime member and observer, first time poster. I thought this would be an appropriate place to share a podcast that I am part of called “Capes, Tights, and Lightsabers.” The premise is two best friends: one is a major comic book nerd, the other one- not so much. We meet weekly to watch and discuss all things involving “Capes, Tights, and Lightsabers.”
We have a few episodes up now:
001 – Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman – Pilot
002 – Justice League Unlimited – Epilogue
003 – Smallville – LeXmas
004 – Tales of the Jedi – Episodes 1 and Episode 2
In our next few episodes, we will be breaking down Superman: The Movie! We will probably split this movie up over a few episodes to really give it the attention that it deserves. After that, we will either dive into Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, or possibly Batman 89. We are just trying to take a step back and look at some of the films and television shows that made an impact in our lives and share our experiences.
We have had a few funny moments along the way. One in our latest episode where Casey almost ruined Star Wars for LJ, who only has a vague recollection of the original trilogy. Another where LJ though that Jonathan Kent was calling Terry McGinnis in a Justice League Episode. Lots of funny moments happen naturally when you have one person who is extremely passionate about the material and the other who only has a vague reference.
This has been a passion project that has been in our heads for years and we are extremely excited to finally have the opportunity for a couple of lifelong friends to get together and discuss all things involving “Capes, Tights, and Lightsabers.”
The podcast is available on Acast, Apple podcasts and Spotify and pretty much everywhere else that podcasts can be found. No socials just yet, but we are working on that.
A video version can be found on YouTube, which I’ve linked it below as well, if podcasts aren’t your thing. We plan on doing some watch-along’s later on down the line as well.
I have been a long-time member of this site, and this is the first place that I thought to share the podcast with like-minded folks. I hope that you can take the time to give us a listen and come with us on this journey of sharing our nerd-ism!
