The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been a huge hit for Prime Video, with the streaming service touting the fact it's been viewed by more than 100 million people worldwide.
The series, which has reportedly been an unprecedented global success as the top Original series for Prime Video in every region in its first season, has announced today (via SFFGazettecom) that acclaimed actors Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear, and Tanya Moodie have joined the show's cast in recurring roles.
There's no word on who they will play in season 2, but this trio are among some of the biggest names added to The Rings of Power's cast to date.
Hinds was nominated for both an Oscar and a BAFTA Award for his world in Belfast and counts the likes of Road to Perdition, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Game of Thrones among his many credits. However, many of you are sure to know him best for bringing Steppenwolf to life in Zack Snyder's Justice League.
As for Kinnear, he's known for playing Bill Tanner in the James Bond movies Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre. Currently, he can be seen in Taika Waititi's Our Flag Means Death.
Last but not least is Tanya Moodie, a well-known British actress who has racked up a lot of great roles in the likes of Hunter, Sherlock, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (where she played General Parnadee). Most recently, Moodie was seen in Sam Mendes' Empire of Light.
As is so often the case, we don't know who any of these actors are playing in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power as that information is being kept a closely guarded secret for now.
