Ghost Rider, starring Nic Cage, will now debut July 14, 2006 instead of Aug. 4.

Principal photography wrapped on the Mark Steven Johnson-directed film earlier this year in Australia.

A lengthy post-production process will be necessary given the film's special effects. Johnson praised the studio's cooperation: "Sony really gets it. They're really supportive," he said. "Marvel movies have obviously done very well for them. They've been terrific. They've given up everything we've wanted. It's been a fantastic experience."
