A New Look At Pennywise In Stephen King's IT May Provide Us With One Of 2016's Worst Movie Stills
A new image from IT has been released today, and while Pennywise the Clown looks admittedly terrifying here, the Photoshop job which has been done on the iconic villain is unintentionally hilarious.
2017 looks set to be a great year for Stephen King fans as we have both The Dark Tower and IT to look forward to. The latter is being split into two parts in order to do the lengthy novel justice, and with Bill Skarsgård (Allegiant) set to take on the role of the iconic Pennywise the Clown, it could be a breakout year for him as well. Now, a new look at the character has been released via Entertainment Weekly.
Unfortunately, it's a pretty appalling Photoshop job. We're used to seeing that on posters and magazine covers, but this is a surprise. At first glance it doesn't look too bad, but take another look, and you'll notice that Pennywise is missing his arms. He's also been added to the image of the pipe, something which is evident from the straight lines around his hair and collar where he's been cropped out.
Despite that, Pennywise still looks pretty menacing, and IT director Andrés Muschietti had this to say about his role here. "Pennywise shows up, he's front and center, and he does his show. He has an act/ So it's weird all the time, and every little thing implies a further threat." What do you think?
